Still Waiting (In Vain) For The Catholic Church To Call For The Repeal Of Obamacare (Not Just The Parts They Don't Like)

Archbishop Timothy Dolan is grabbing the olive branch the Obama administration extended on birth control, saying he’s happy to offer the feds a “graceful exit” from the election-year uproar.

Yeah, I bet he's just as pleased as punch. So when is the motherfucker going to stand up for my rights to not be burdened with all the myriad mandates of ObamaCare, and the consequences thereof?

Oh, that's right, he's not likely to do that, because, well the son-of-a-bitch is to a great extent responsible for the passage of Obamacare. He lent his support behind Obamacare, helped to get it passed, him and a good many others amongst the vaunted Catholic leadership.

But hey, he doesn't have to worry. He's on his way to a cushy appointment at the College of Cardinals, while the rest of us schmucks, including his fellow American Catholic parishioners, are left to pay the price of his advocacy.

So, what do you think are the chances that Archbishop, soon-to-be Cardinal Dolan will come out in favor of the repeal of all of Obamacare? What do you think are the chances him and all the other Catholic leadership will repent of their sins, and decide maybe they should respect our rights to not have this terrible, oppressive law forced down our throats?

Yeah, me too.

That's why I say, keep the mandates in place. If I'm getting screwed, Dolan and his crew needs to get good and fucked as well. It's only right. He and they wanted the fucking law. I damn sure didn't. I fought it. He supported it. But THEY get do-over?

And come to think of it, there are valid health reasons to offer contraceptive coverage. After all, what if some poor beleaguered worker in some Catholic charity comes down with a nasty case of endometriosis? Wouldn't it be, well, sinful to deny her treatment for such a painful, debilitating disease, which happens to be treated by-you guessed it-birth control pills? Hell, don't stop there, make them fund abortion coverage as well. Why should the rest of us have to live with the consequence of the Chruch's action while they fucking skate.

Of course, the good Cardinal and his crew might want to consider another way out of this hole they've dug for themselves. Catholic charities could, simply, stop taking federal money. Yeah, how likely is that? But hey, there's an old saying that applies to this, something about lying down with dogs. Maybe sleeping with the devil would be more appropriate. And by the way, do you know who agrees with me on this? Rick Santorum, that's who.

While siding with the bishops’ recent opposition to President Obama’s imposition of abortion upon Catholic hospitals, Santorum nevertheless stated bluntly that the Church “had it coming.”

(And this is not a new shtick on Santorum’s part: He is a long-time critic, for example, of the government-funded, secularized Catholic Charities USA.)

Indeed, Dolan and all the other Catholic leaders might want to consider that, when it comes to the federal government, and especially the likes of Barak Hussein Obama, trusting people like this to take care of your needs, and keeping their promises, might be a whole lot like adopting a rescue panther.

Everybody's talking about how the Obama Administration is trying to find a way to walk back its recent ruling that Catholic charities have to offer insurance that covers birth control. To which I say, well, isn't that special.

What I'd really like to know is, when the fuck do the rest of us get a do-over? If you think the Catholic Church has suddenly awoke to the dangers posed to the Constitution and conservative values by ObamaCare, think again. And they damn sure aren't concerned about the encroachment on our Federalist principles. No, they just have religious sensibilities to abortion and birth control.

All well and good. And, you know? I don't give a good fried fuck. I care about their so-called religious liberties about like they care about mine. Maybe I have my own set of ethical standards, maybe even religious values, that make me strongly opposed to ObamaCare and other liberal policies shoved down my fucking throat.

Do you think for one second the Catholic Bishops Conference among other Catholic groups, including some groups of nuns, gave a big rats ass about my values, my rights, my concerns, or for those of any of the rest of you, when they threw all of us under the bus and supported ObamaCare? Hell fucking no they didn't care, and I'll be damned if I give a big shit about them now.

It's not like they didn't know what kind of person Obama was. This is the most openly, actively pro-abortion President we've had yet. This is a man who, as an Illinois State Senator, couldn't be fucking bothered to vote half the time, other than as "Present", but he damn sure made sure to vote against the Born Alive Act, over the course of his career offering as many as 10 different reasons he voted against this law that tried to mandate saving the life of children who were born alive during the course of a botched abortion.

He has no problem now funding Planned Parenthood with federal tax dollars, or with supporting even third-trimester abortions. But yet, the Catholic Church, whose membership voted for Obama by about 54% despite knowing full well his history, are upset that he turned around and stabbed them in the back? Fuck them, I say good enough for them. I hope Obama doesn't walk it back. I hope he sticks to his guns on this. I hope he keeps right on rubbing their fucking faces in it. Maybe it will teach them a god damn motherfucking lesson.

I doubt it though. Come the next election, they'll probably still vote for him, and won't have any fucking problem whatsoever promoting and supporting more leftist policies that fuck all the rest of us. The nerve of these cocksuckers!

Almira Fawn Update

Some might recall a post I did sometime back about the murder of Indonesian immigrant Umi Southworth, a murder for which her husband Donald was eventually charged, and just recently found guilty. The Southworths were the parents of a talented young singer-songwriter by the name Almira Fawn, who has since been adopted by her Nashville manager.

Thankfully, she seems to be doing quite well, and in fact, here she is some five months ago at the Nashville Teen Hoot, singing a song she wrote called "Somebody's Little Girl".

Your Peanut Allergic Kid Is A Goddamn Little Sissy is meant to be a humorous post by Maty Beckerman, but there's probably more than a little truth there.Maybe we are overprotective of our kids. A commenter at the post made the point that he made sure his kids spent the day getting good and dirty because, well, that's what kids are supposed to do. It helps their bodies adapt to germs, and therefore helps them fight them off. Makes sense, especially when I consider the case of a cousin who died of exposure to a germ common in wood that humans developed a natural resistance to probably hundreds of thousands of years ago. Unfortunately, an earlier auto accident which almost took his life destroyed his spleen, and thus wreaked havoc on his immune system. Why it is that children suddenly developed allergies to peanuts over the course of the last three decades remains a mystery. Who knows, maybe it has nothing to do with the protective cocoon so many parents keep their kids enveloped within. Whatever the case, whoever thought this might be the stuff of children's nightmares?

Is it possible the presidential election could hinge on how well the Green Party performs? Admittedly, this is not likely, but you never can tell, especially if they nominate someone of the stature of Roseanne Barr. Rosie seems to adhere to the Robespierre wing of the Green Party.

Unfortunately, even though she has officially filed to run for the Green Party nomination, and actually won 29% of the vote in a recent Green Party on-line poll, Rosie recently stated on her Twitter account that she will probably support Jill Stein, who got well over 60% in the poll and will probably be this year's Green Party nominee. However, she is running mainly to help promote and build the party.

So why does this matter, this apparent vanity run by a celebrity candidate? Because I can envision a scenario where Roseanne Barr could take enough votes from Obama to cost him some states which would ordinarily be safely blue states, or purple states where it might be really close. Some that come to mind include-Oregon, Washington, Vermont, Minnesota, New Mexico, Colorado, Florida, Virginia, and even the President's home state of Illinois.

You will be hearing more about this, perhaps, if you frequent enough of the right kinds of conservative blogs, such as Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler, although his purpose, based on a suggestion from a commenter at Legal Insurrection, is somewhat different in scope from my own. The suggestion here is for conservatives to vote Green in the Presidential race, as opposed to some conservative third party, in order to help the Greens qualify for federal matching funds for future elections, and thus turn into a permanent thorn in the side of the Democrats.

That's fine, but its a long shot at best, requiring years before it pays off to what little extent it might. As you can see here, I prefer to dream big.

Mike Huckabee, Former Baptist Preacher, Blazes A Path To Hell Paved With Lies

Professor Jacobson over at Legal Insurrection has posted a video recorded during the 2008 primaries in which former Arkansas Governor and 2008 Republican presidential primary candidate Mike Huckabee claims quite blatantly that Mitt Romney is a liar. It was quite a famous ad in its time. Huckabee didn't have the money to run the ad on Iowa television ahead of the Iowa caucuses, so campaign manager Ed Rollins hit on a brilliant strategy. He called a press conference, where he showed the ad. The media televised it as part of their news cycle, at no expense to the Huckabee campaign. In fact, the ad has been credited in no small measure with helping Huckabee win the Iowa caucuses in what was a stunning upset to the Romney campaign. In fact, even though Huckabee did not go on to become that year's GOP nominee, it might well have helped John McCain in the end. Here is the ad, which quite clearly targets Romney as a liar, and a purveyor of liberal ideas, including co-pays for abortion, and gun control. And of course, RomneyCare.

Seems pretty clear, doesn't it? Apparently though, not now to Mike Huckabee, who insists the ad has been characterized by the Newt Gingrich campaign in a deceptive manner. Huckabee has demanded that Newt stop using the old ad and has denied that he was talking about Romney. Huckabee has issued the same denial and assault on the Gingrich campaign via his HuckPAC. Again, you can watch the ad above and see for yourself.

So, what exactly is the big deal? More to the point, since its so blatantly obvious that Huck is referring to Romney, why would he deny it so strenuously? I suggested to Professor Jacobson that it might have something to do with the fact that Huckabee is currently employed by Fix News, which has him under contract, and that Fix News is itself in the tank for Romney. He responded to me with a link to Roger Aisles Twitter account, specifically a screen cap to a Tweet which, while not exactly a ringing endorsement of Romney, certainly makes plain his dislike for the candidacy of Newt Gingrich. It reads in full-

Can't blame Newt G too much. He was carpet bombed with negatives by Romney. Brilliant, visionary but just too much baggage! And erratic.

It would seem as though Fix News is fair and balanced to all sides, except to true conservatives. But hey, maybe the Republican elites know best after all. Maybe we shouldn't feel so badly that Fix News, like seemingly most of the Republican Establishment, are so thoroughly in the tank for Mitt, who evidently has no baggage worth noting,

Hillary Clinton To Resign From State Department

Although not totally unexpected, this is still big news. Clinton made it clear she will stay on as Secretary of State until Obama appoints a successor, and seemingly made it just as plain that she expects this to not happen until Obama wins a second term. But it does leave open the possibility that Obama could go ahead and make the appointment sooner rather than later, which would free Hillary to replace Biden as Obama's running mate in the 2012 election. This is something I predicted from the very beginning of Obama's presidency, but Clinton has of course denied any such intentions lately.

I find it difficult to believe that its not under serious consideration. Biden adds nothing to Obama. He's probably the most insignificant VP since Dan Quayle, in fact. And its not like Obama needs Biden to shore up his support in Delaware with its measly little three electoral votes, nor does Biden really help Obama that much in Pennsylvania at this stage. Clinton could help Obama in multiple states, and the two might prove an unbeatable combination. It depends, sadly, on the state of the economy by then. I say sadly, because if the economy improves significantly, Obama could start rounding up conservatives and shipping them off to Guantanamo on the grounds of their opposition to him being based on "racism" and thus a violation of his civil rights to be loved and respected as the first black president. He could mandate hands-on sex training in public schools by way of executive order on the grounds of public health concerns. He could mandate a government policy to reach a goal of one same sex marriage out of every one hundred by 2050, and one interracial marriage for every twenty by the same time period. He could do all this and even worse, and he would still be guaranteed at least 46% of the vote.

But that would be provided, of course, that we have a good economy. If he was to replace Biden with Hillary Clinton-arguably the closest thing to a Stalinist First Lady and Secretary of State the country has ever been burdened with-this would be seen as a "moderating" influence.

We are just plainly fucked.

Do We Really Have A Voice?

So far I've looked in vain for any information as to who decided Mitt Romney was the right man to give the "Prebuttal" to last night's SOTU by Obama. I can only assume this was done at the behest of the RNC. Well, somebody had to give the go ahead, right? I suppose Romney could have purchased the air time, but wouldn't that in itself be news? Maybe I'm missing something here.

I doubt that though. The GOP almost had Obama surrounded last night. All that was missing was another candidate, or potential candidate, making faces and obscene gestures during the middle of the presidential address to both houses of Congress.

The Republicans decided, evidently, the Prebuttal should be by their preferred candidate. That of course is Romney. Never mind that, as of now, Gingrich is ahead in delegate counts and the polls in Florida are close enough between Gingrich and Romney as to fall squarely within the margin of error. The Republican Establishment has decided they want Mitt this year.

They are actually pissed, and concerned, that its not all over yet. But Gingrich is still going strong, and Santorum and Paul are also still in the mix. It's not over by a long shot. So what does the GOP do? They try to reassert Romney's aura of inevitability by giving him this prime speaking slot.

But just to be on the safe side, they appoint Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels to deliver the traditional rebuttal following Obama's address, the day before this putting out a trial balloon trying to gauge potential support for Daniels among the GOP electorate.

Isn't it strange that the party of Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan always wants to promote its moderates, even its liberals. They want no truck with a Sarah Palin, who I believe they pressured out of this year's race. But they will go back and forth multiple times to encourage somebody like Daniels, or Jeb Bush, or Chris Christie. And they're so dense one resounding no isn't enough for them. They have to hear it over and over again. It wasn't but two or three weeks ago they were floating the Jeb Bush trial balloon for the third or fourth time, and now its back to Daniels, again. I guess in two or three weeks it will be time to float the Chris Christie balloon, yet again.

It's fucking sickening. If the GOP wants to go back to the days when nominees were decided by party bosses and precinct captains, they should just come out and say so and quit wasting our fucking time.

Future Shock

Come to find out, Newt Gingrich and Al Gore have one thing in common-a mentor by the name of Alvin Toffler.

I'm not sure if I should be worried, but I am. Admittedly, not for the same reason others are.

Kelleigh Nelson has a provocative two part history of Gingrich, here and in the second part she details Gingrich's adherence to Toffler's theory of the Third Wave.

And this is not something that has just bobbed up to the surface. Enter Stage Right posted this article way back in 2001 about the implications of Newt Gingrich and the Third Wave philosophy of Toffler. Basically, Toffler states that time and progress is not linear, that it can move forward, backwards, or sideways, but that it moves in waves. According to Toffler, we first had an Agricultural Wave away from the original Hunter-Gather societies of the distant past. The Second Wave was the Industrial Age. The coming Third Wave, which has actually already commenced, will be Post-Industrial. He holds that it will be marked by technological advances, but also by many other aspects, in the fields of business, medicine, and education.

Some people see it as a capitalist tolerant version of communism. I don't know about that, but what I do know is it doesn't seem to have much to do with the ideals of Federalism and limited government.

One thing I've noticed over the years is that anytime anyone anywhere preaches the gospel of greater government power and control, they always couch it in terms of humanity, equality, fairness, and all the other buzzwords which imply you are a hateful bigot, racist, misogynist, etc., if you don't play along. Then they try to feed you the carrot of promised greater potential for prosperity, security, and independence. Later of course they play the patriot card.

If this is the kind of thing Newt Gingrich is selling, I'm not buying. The unfortunate thing is, as of now he might still be the best bet of a bad lot.

I used to think things were as bad as they could possibly get. And then I remembered something-

I'm not exactly sitting on top of the heap.

UPDATE-Thanks to Charles Martel, a commenter at The Other McCain who provided me with a link to an Ann Coulter article which goes into some detail about the Gingrich-Toffler connection. This might go a long way towards explaining the stridency with which she seems to oppose Gingrich, though I still strongly disagree with her support for Mitt Romney, to say nothing of uber-liberal Chris Christie. It makes you wonder why she doesn't point this out in her appearances on television. Is there some unwritten, unspoken rule that mention of the Tofflers is bad form or something?

PETA Wants A Murder Museum

And since it is currently undergoing foreclosure, PETA has their sites set on the Florida home of OJ Simpson, now currently serving thirty-three years on charges of kidnapping and robbery committed by Simpson in an attempt to retrieve sports memorabilia which had belonged to the Hall-Of-Fame former NFL running back. The items in question were being auctioned off to meet the terms of a court settlement, a substantial sum owed the families of former wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman, both of whose murder Simpson was guilty of according to the judgment of the civil suit brought against Simpson by those families.

So why exactly would PETA want this home in particular, the former abode of such a notorious figure in American history? Apparently, their aim is to draw a correlation between Simpson and his violent tendencies with the habit of eating meat. As they say in the article at The Post Game-

(Simpson) was outspoken about his consumption of meat, coupled with the fact that he was a spokesman for a chicken restaurant chain, and owned two restaurants and a stake in HoneyBaked Ham stores.

So because of his avid consumption of and promotion of meat, Simpson became a bloodthirsty, violent double-murderer, and later kidnapper and robber. What better place than the former home of such a person to have a "Murder Museum" which would teach visitors that "Murder begins on our plates"?

And of course the publicity value of such an acquisition would go without saying, and if anybody knows publicity, you can rest assured that PETA knows publicity.

Only time will tell how this proposed purchase unfolds. PETA would like for the bank to donate the premises, but are willing to pay a nominal sum. My worries for the neighborhood are based on some awareness of the groups overall philosophy. They don't even believe in killing vermin, to the extent they at times seem squeamish about the prospect of killing even head or body lice. I hope no one ever clues them in to the fact that microscopic bacteria and viruses are life-forms and thus technically "animals", but I'm sure its only a matter of time before they start picketing hospitals and doctor's offices.

In the meantime, PETA is probably at the forefront of insisting that DC's rat population should be "relocated in family units" as opposed to killing them. Come to think of it, what rat family wouldn't love a new home in sunny Florida?

If It Seems Like Fox News (And The GOP Establishment) Is In The Tank For Romney, Well

CORRECTION-Apparently I jumped the gun in identifying Fox News as a subsidiary of Clear Channel Communications. Fox is owned by Rupert Murdoch, not Clear Channel, although I'm still not sure whether Murdoch might be part owner of Clear Channel as well. I'll look into that. For now, the controversy seems to be the zeal with which several conservative talk radio hosts, notably Rush Limbaugh, jumped to Romney's defense over questions concerning his conduct at Bain Capital.

Clear Channel Communications is owned by Bain Capital.

There is another story, though far murkier, that blames Gingrich, and possibly Dick Armey, for the suicide death of Sandy Hume, the son of Fox News analyst Brit Hume. Apparently, there was a move to oust Gingrich from the Speaker's Chair in the nineties led by Buffalo Representative Bill Paxon. When Armey learned Paxon and not he would be the new House Speaker, he may have leaked the news of a homosexual affair between Paxon and Hume. Or it could have been Gingrich. Or maybe Gingrich and Armey acting together. Whichever was responsible, the result-allegedly-is that Hume killed himself, and Paxon left the House.

Here is the whole nasty story which was slated to be the subject of a conference call hosted by the Romney campaign with two surrogates, former Rep. Susan Molinari and former Sen. Jim Talent. Whether the details will be released publicly is questionable, and doubtful, due to the obviously sensitive nature of the discussion. Incidentally, it so happens that Molinari is the former wife of the aforementioned Bill Paxon.

Sandy Hume, who was at the time a reporter for the Hill, penned the following missive in covering the attempted coup on Gingrich-

"There is a concerted effort to take Bill Paxon out before he becomes a bigger threat to Gingrich than he is," Hill reporter Sandy Hume reported at the time, according to this Arianna Huffington. "Paxon and Armey haven't been on speaking terms since the coup."

It was shortly after this that Hume committed suicide, because of the rumor of the gay relationship with Paxon, according to many. It is also interesting to note that Joe Scarbrorough blamed Dick Armey for the rumor, which was intended to derail Paxon's efforts to overthrow Gingrich.

Like I said, murky and uncertain. But it does go to explain, to some degree, a good deal of the Republican establishment hatred toward Newt Gingrich. When Gingrich was eventually successfully removed and replaced as Speaker by Dennis Hastert, the GOP took on an entirely different persona, one in which big government conservative during the Bush era became the predominant norm, until a disgusted Republican electorate removed them from power in 2006.

It is frankly clear to me that a Mitt Romney presidency, though slightly an improvement over Obama in some regards, would in many pertinent ways amount to just more of the same. They know the conservative base doesn't want it, but they are determined to force-feed us the Romney medicine anyway.

Why? Because they think that, now more than ever, we'll put up with it.

Post-Season

Let's talk football, something I've generally lost most of my interest in over the last few years. But if this seasons post-season playoff games thus far are any indication, we might be in for a wild and wooly couple of championship games, and hopefully Super Bowl.

Granted, with the exception of Denver's overtime victory over Pittsburgh (a game I unfortunately missed), the wild card games were blow-outs. Most people were shocked, shocked I say at Denver's ultimate victory, but let's face it, the game turned out the way it way supposed to turn out. Conference champions are supposed to beat the wild cards. Still people went nuts. Christian fans of Denver quarterback Tim Tebow started pointing to the recurrence of the number 316 (from the scripture John 3:16 the young Florida State quarterback Tebow wore in greasepaint under his eyes, a signature he was required to drop upon entry to the NFL). So what is the significance anyway?

Well you know, Tebow thew for 316 yards, and GET THIS HE ALSO AVERAGED 31.6 YARDS A PASS, NOW DON'T THAT PROVE SOMETHING? (Answer-yes, it proves he completed ten passes)

The Cinci loss to Houston was a hella heart breaker, but really, what are we to expect after all these years? Let's be thankful there are no tigers native to America. Thanks to the Bengals, if some kids were wandering in the woods and a tiger crossed their paths, they'd just say, "Oh its just a stupid fucking Bengal."

I almost felt just as bad for the Lions in their loss to New York. You start to wonder if it might be bad luck to name your professional sports team after a jungle cat, until you realize that the Lions practically dominated the NFL in the nineteen fifties.

And of course, to no ones surprise, the Falcons were similarly eviscerated by the Saints.

Once the wild card games were over and done with, we moved on to some games that were in my opinion football at its best. In fact, in my opinion the San Francisco-New Orleans game might have been the best game I've seen in several years, and I've seen a few good ones in that span of time. I told people not to underestimate the Niners, but did they listen? Of course not. Never mind they have the best defense in the NFC they are in the weakest conference in the NFC so they cant be that good right? Never mind that they dominated their conference. I found myself rooting for Alex Smith almost as much as Christians rooted for Tebow, and he did not disappoint, proving to be as much of a factor over an impressive Saints team as their lauded defensive squad.

Speaking of Tebow, whom I like and respect, when it came time for the Broncs to go up against the Pats, we got the predictable David versus Goliath schpiel. And of course, the game turned out as I predicted. In fact, if you saw the game (I didn't) I have an idea you saw a pretty good rendition of what the real David would have gotten if the real Goliath had managed to get his hands on him-a spanking.

But no, if there was any hint of divine intervention in any of these games, you would have needed to look no further than the Baltimore-Houston match-up. That was another great game, though it was apparent to me Baltimore was going to come out on top. Granted, Houston played a great game, but the dominance of Baltimore's defenseive squad, along with quarterback Flacco, reigned supreme, his passing efforts superhuman in scope, yet matched by the dogged determination and skill of not one but two different receivers, one of whom caught an impossible pass way down field, inches from the out-of-bounds line with a defender practically all up in his ass. And he caught the damn ball one-handed. And somehow he managed to make it look easy. Near the end a Baltimore defensive player recovered a fumble whereupon the offensive squad took it to the one-yard line-where they were stopped short on fourth down and had to turn the ball over. But the game was nevertheless to all intents and purposes over by this point.

Now I have to wonder if the game of the season might be not the Super Bowl, but the AFC Championship game between the Ravens and the Pats. The NFC Championship game upcoming between the Giants and the Niners, well that might be a whole nuther ball game. Pity the poor Packers, humiliated at Lambeau Field by a perpetually underestimated Eli Manning after producing the best all around record of the season. I mean let's face it, by the time the Pack achieved a record of 13-0 they had it so sewn up they could afford to take it easy for the rest of the season. How fucking bad-ass is that? Yet the Giants came to town and decimate them by seventeen points in what was probably the worst game of the post-season, based on the prevailing wisdom prior to the first snap. It was definitely the worst post-season game showing in all of Green Bay history. Now New York goes on to Candlestick.

And I have to admit, I am greatly disappointed. How hilarious would it have been to see that Championship advertised over television?

The Romney Empire And It's Great Bird Of Prey

Bain Capital-it sounds like Bane. But are they really malefactors, the Vulture Capitalists as described by Rick Perry? Are they really deserving of the recent attack ad by supporters of Newt Gingrich, which has been described as being as vicious as anything ever cooked up by the left? And this is coming from Daily Kos!

Probably not. Private equity firms such as Bain play a vital role in any kind of capitalist system, the healthy ones as well as those which are grievously wounded, such as our own. They recognize there will always be winners and losers. Bain has probably saved more jobs on balance than they have devoured. They have created success stories from the ashes of creative destruction. Some companies, such as Staples, have survived thanks to Bain, and gone on to prosper, expand, and thrive.

And of course, there have been failures. There will always be some of those. That's also the risk of private equity. But on balance, in the case of Bain Capital, there have been more success stories than failures. There have been more jobs saved, and created, than lost. Much, much more.

Thus, when you attack Bain Capital, this great Bird Of Prey of the Romneylan Empire, they simply throw up their deflector shields and ward off your phaser attack. That's because you are engaging in a frontal assault against their strongest, most easily defensible positions.

But in the meantime, they employ their cloaking device when it comes to their truly malefic aspects. No one truly sees where they are coming from, and from where they derive their true strength. Few manage to pierce beyond the veil. But they should, because its power source isn't at all the power of the free-enterprise system, but the largesse of crony capitalism. And that system is itself enabled by the labyrinthine maze of red tape and regulations that make up the most offensive, counter-productive regulatory system in history.

It is a system which requires extensive time in the form of non-productive labor and draining of capital expenditure in order for any business to survive, and under which relatively few will thrive. This has been true since the days of the New Deal, but then, the damage was nowhere near as incalculable. It has since that time grown steadily over the decades, much like a cancer which has only now metastisized with the implementation of such onerous regulatory regimes as Sarbannes-Oxley, Dodd-Frank, and of course The Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. These legislative and bureaucratic monstrosities have already adversely affected job creation and business profitability (and in many cases business survival)-and they have not yet even been implemented.

They need to be repealed, scrapped. But we should not stop with them. There are many more examples of laws and regulatory regimes that should be buried under the ash heap of history. Fannie And Freddie should be broken up and sold off to private interests. The FDA and the EPA should be scrapped, or at least massively scaled back, and made to be reactive agencies as opposed to the proactive monstrosities that actively look for the slightest excuse to levy fines and injunctions. All of these government boondoggles should be either scrapped or reined in sharply, and several cabinet departments should be phased out as well.

The dirty little secret here is, if this were done, and taxes were lowered significantly and the tax code itself simplified, the economy would grow by such leaps and bounds that entitlements could be saved with nothing more than relatively minor reforms.

Unfortunately, a moderate Republican like Romney is highly unlikely to do that, not because he is a moderate, a squish-a "RINO", if you will. No, it is simply because Romney's company, Bain Capital, that great bird of prey, like many other private equity firms, have thrived under the current regulatory system.

True, there will always be business failures, due to bad management or a flawed business model, even under the best of economies, and companies like Bain will always thrive to a point by buying these companies and when possible turning them around.

But does anybody seriously believe for one minute that Bain would be nearly as successful as it has been under a sound economy with a bare minimum of regulatory interference, no more than necessary. Let's get real here. Our regulatory system has created an atmosphere that is conducive to business failure as it contributes in large to the sluggishness of our economy. I won't venture to say what percentage of business failures are directly attributable to our oppressive regulatory regimes, but I do know that it has to be significant. Common sense tells you that.

So why should we trust Mitt Romney to significantly reform our economy? Why should we take him seriously when he says we need smaller government? Lower taxes? Less regulations?

Bain Capital at one point made investments in companies that specializes in green energy technology. Then voila, at some point, Mitt Romney declared himself a believe in Anthropogenic Global Climate Change. And of course, green energy. It does not take a rocket scientist-or a solar panel technician-to realize he was looking out for his own financial interests, and that of his company.

Why should we then trust him to reform a regulatory system that has enabled him and his company to grow, and to thrive, to a much greater extent than it ordinarily would have?

Last nights sad spectacle of a debate in New Hampshire was a disappointment, to say the least. Mitt won, only by virtue of no one laying a hand on him. Santorum was restrained. Gingrich was cautious. Paul was still nutty, but he seemed-well, medicated, perhaps? Huntsman, feeling it was perhaps his last chance to shine, exhibited his depth of knowledge by-speaking Mandarin. I guess he figured he would prove he was a man of accomplishment, a man who knew whereof he spoke. Unfortunately, I don't think anybody has yet figured out what the hell he was saying. As for Perry, he horrified us all with the news that the Iranians have apparently not only developed nuclear capabilities, but have somehow managed to acquire 22nd century Warp Drive technology as well.

Are these guys really auditioning for Republican presidential nominee? I started to think at first they might actually be trying for a position on next year's Cincinnati Bengals squad.

Granted, this mornings debate on NBC was much better. Santorum was more assertive, Gingrich was his old feisty self, and everybody went after Mitt, who nevertheless held up somewhat well. Paul was slightly less medicated. Huntsman gave all his responses in English-his second language. And Perry still evidently hasn't figured out that Congress actually gets a vote on their pay and their work schedule.

But, as much as an improvement as it was over last nights, and many other preceding debates, they have a ways to go. I think they need somebody to give them a pep talk. Because let's face it, what with what is ahead for the winner in the general election, its time to hone the old killer instinct.

Since Ron Paul came in third in the Iowa caucuses, the Paultards are livid with rage, and now claim the process was subverted, by-Jews. That's right, Jews, acting in conjunction with the Federal Reserve and Establishment Republicans who are determined Ron Paul will not be the GOP nominee. What's more, they knew it all along.

According to them, well see for yourself-

The short version goes something like this, in part. Paul's old newsletters were written years ago by "disgruntled former employees" who were probably acting as "agent provocateurs" (and they did this for at least ten years, unhindered), CNN had Paul at over 50% in the Iowa polls (which is damn sure news to me), and oh yeah, to paraphrase, "we're going to have to shoot the bastards".

And this is all contained in just the roughly two or three minutes of the 9:05 video I could stand to watch.

Of course, this is par for the course. Anything that doesn't go the way the Paultards think it should is due to the machinations of some arcane, devious plot by people determined to keep us in bondage to the war machine profiteers, the internationalist bankers, and the career politicians who are in thrall to them all.

You probably wouldn't be backward or naive enough to believe me if I told you I knew a person who never in his life ever had to go to the bathroom, that never once in his life did he ever have to defecate. More than likely, you would tell me that he or I one was full of shit.

And I think that was probably the reason this myth of the late Kim Jong Il was removed from the North Korean website. Not that anybody really told them that. Some things don't require a direct rebuttal, you just say them and watch the automatic reaction you get.

Some myths, however, die hard, and there was plenty of mythologizing during the life and relatively brief tenure of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il-the Dear Leader who left this mortal vale sometime in the wee hours on the 20th of December.

His very death was the stuff of myth. Turns out he was too superhuman to die by any ordinary means. Hell, this was a man who who drunk north of 70,000 gallons of Hennessy Cognac a year with no ill effects. But die he did, from overwork on behalf of the people of North Korea whom he so dearly loved.

And the people of North Korea dearly loved him as well, as witnessed the countless throngs of North Koreans who turned out for his funeral procession, crying, some stomping the ground in agonizingly intense sadness, expressing pangs of remorse, and even guilt. Here are some of them expressing their profound grief, as a giant smiling picture of Kim Jong Il beams down in heavenly radiance from on high, watching them with that laughing, mirthful expression which was his wont.

You see, Kim Jong Il's moods controlled the weather. If it was a bright, sunny day, that meant that Kim was happy. If it was foggy, he was sad. If he was raining, he must have been crying. And so on and so forth.

Some western wags had the temerity to suggest that the expressions of grief at Dear Leaders funeral were staged and choreographed. But how then did they manage to choreograph displays of grief from Nature itself? Explain that one! Who made the ice crack open on the mountain where he was born? Who choreographed the owls who grieved at his death? Who stage managed the dove that appeared on his statue in a loving attempt to kick the snow off the shoulders of the image of Dear Leader?

Kim did not merely perform miracles. His life was one on-going, never ending miracle, beginning with his birth, which transpired under a double rainbow and heralded the birth of a new star.

Thankfully though Kim's legacy is sure to live on, through the documented evidence in possession of the North Korean government. And he also has devotees outside the advanced nation he ruled and strengthened for so long. Luckily for the people of North Korea, the death of Kim Jung Il need nor herald the end of all they hold near and dear. What I Got For Christmas-No, Anne Coulter, I Will Not Settle

Rick Santorum is supposedly surging in Iowa, according to one poll (CNN/Time) so Robert Stacy McCain, who has been promoting Santorum ever since his first favored candidate Herman Cain fell out of contention, is one happy camper in the Hawkeye State.

As for me, I have stood steadfastly in Bachmann's corner ever since Palin announced her decision not to run. I still say she's the best of the bunch. She is knowledgeable on all matters, foreign and domestic, as a President should be, and at her best she has a certain Kennedyesque air about her. Unlike Cain, she has been involved in national politics enough to know what she's doing, and talking about, and she doesn't pander even at times when I personally think that might be the best, most practical course of action. For, unlike all the others, she hasn't been absorbed into the political world and its toxic environment long enough to qualify as a career politician. Just long enough to know what needs to be done, and changed, what needs to be retained and/or reformed, while maintaining the dedication and determination to fight for her principles, constitutional principles of small, limited government, federalism, and pro-growth economics. She's also every bit as much of a social conservative as Santorum while not making that the centerpiece of her campaign, which may or may not be smart for the Iowa caucuses, but like I said, she doesn't pander. She'll look you or anybody else dead in the eye and tell you the recent deal to retain the payroll tax cut was a mistake. Which it was, in all honesty, though as a practical matter-well, there you go.

I've resigned myself, almost, to the likelihood that she will not be the GOP nominee, which is a hard pill to swallow. Another thing that would be good about her, like Palin, is that it would be great if the first woman President (and you know that eventually there will be one) were a conservative Republican, one who could be a great role model to counter-balance and possibly even negate the years of insufferable leftist progressive feminism which has plagued the nation for decades now.

But you know something? I know now how Anne Coulter felt when it finally sunk in that Chris Christie, her seemingly first and one true love, would not be the GOP nominee. Anne has settled for Mitt, as a way of staying close to Mitt's supporter Christie, again her one true love.

Well, I won't go that route. I will not "settle". Thanks to the loving, compassionate kindness of a concerned, well, let us call him a "family member", or maybe just a good friend, one whose name I swore I would never divulge, I received a Christmas present that will help me make it though the dark days ahead and see me through what seems destined to be a grave disappointment.

It is never made clear in the report exactly what these two fat bitches are fighting about. From the looks of the two of them I'm guessing maybe a ham hock.

Other than this, the group as a whole celebrated their Christmas in style, with more naive types, or perhaps kindred spirits, stopping by to donate foooooooood-which is something I doubt any of this bunch has ever had to go very long without, despite all their bullshit rhetoric about the so-called one percent hogging all the wealth. Let's face it, one look at this video and you start to get a good idea as to why any place there is an #Occupy movement, restaurants are forced to shut their doors and food vendors flee in apparent fear for their lives. The Flying Spaghetti Monster got his own Nativity Scene at the Leesburg Virginia courthouse. How cool is that? Well, lots of folks think its cool, but others think its not cool. Not cool at all. I guess I see their point. It's seen, probably with some merit, as an attempt to make the Christian faith look foolish and superstitious.

I can put myself in those shoes. Suppose instead of swallowing a rock disguised as the infant Zeus, Rhea had gifted Cronus with a steaming hot plate of spaghetti monster. He never would have gotten sick and vomited up Zeus's brethren, thus the Titans would have ruled the universe from thenceforth.

Then again, who knows, maybe Cronus would have mellowed out some and demanded continuous servings of spaghetti monster with garlic bread and would have gotten so obese he would have been helpless to defend himself against a grown and matured Zeus. Yeah, that's probably how it would have turned out. All the same. Even the other elder gods might have eventually made their escape, albeit perhaps in somewhat less dignified fashion.

When all's said and done, there's always room for more, and really, how serious a threat to Christendom can one little old spaghetti monster be, even a flying one? It could be worse. Muslim extremists could have easily demanded a Nativity Scene featuring the prophet Mohammed skulking around some alley whispering to the eight-year old Aiesha, the future bride of the prophet, something to the effect, "Psssst, hey little girl do you wanna see something big?"

Chill, people, learn to laugh at yourself, that way it won't sting so bad when others do so. Plus it makes it even funnier when you laugh at them.

Real world obligations got in the way of my posting over the last couple of weeks, which made me late for Yule and Christmas postings. So its too late now for me to encourage you to do whatevetr Christmas shopping at Lowes as would be practical. But its not too late to urge you to do other off-season shopping at the home improvement giant retailer who has been threatened by Congress over its recent decision to pull advertising from the TLC program All American Muslim. I won't comment on whether Lowe's was justified. Their explanation sounds reasonable enough, that the program is a propaganda piece aimed at promoting the cause of Islam while not addressing the real concerns Americans might have and the conflicts between the values of the religion with traditional American values. Others assert that Lowes is merely kowtowing to the demands of social conservatives in particular a group called the Florida Family Association. What I do know is there is nothing that warrants or justifies Congress or any branch of government threatening Lowes or any other business with sanctions for refusing to advertise for any program, whatever their reasoning.

As might be expected various Muslim groups have called for a boycott of the store. Well and good, no one can force them to shop there. But no one can force you not to shop there either. Here's a good place to start. I didn't know Lowe's also sold Keurig Coffee Makers.

American Horror Story-The REAL Secret Of The "Murder House"

Tonight's the night fans of the show have been waiting for, while wondering what could possibly happen that would top everything that's come before in the course of this crazy first season? Both Violet (Taissa Farmiga) and Vivien Harmon (Connie Britton) are dead. In one of the worst kept secrets in television history, Violet committed suicide whereupon her ghostly psychopath boyfriend Tate Langdon (Evan Peters) hid her body in a crawl space of the Murder House. Previously, as a favor to one of the houses original occupants, Nora Montgomery (who desired even in death a baby to replace her murdered child Thaddeus) Tate raped Vivien and managed to impregnate her while she was also pregnant with a child by her husband Ben (Dylan McDermott). Vivien died in the house giving birth to the twins, the fully human one being supposedly stillborn. Or was it? In that house, how could you possibly know? You would have to wait say three or four years, when you would finally figure out that it was still, you know, a baby and stuff.

Which brings me to the secret of Murder House. Everybody that dies in the house or on the property seems to be trapped there, forever. Or that is, their spirits stay trapped there. This has been an ongoing phenomenon since the mid-twenties, when Doctor Charles Montgomery, then a world-famous "Surgeon To The Stars" built the house for his wife Nora. However, Montgomery's business suffered when he became first a drug addict, and then, well, somewhat unhinged, performing ghastly experiments to graft animal body parts together in vain attempts to create reanimated hybrids. When Nora came to the finally finished home and saw what was going on, she out his ass back to work-as an abortionist for girls wanting to be stars but who had gotten themselves "in trouble".

This went on for some time, until one of Montgomery's patients spilled the beans to her boyfriend, who took revenge on the Montgomery's by kidnapping their son Thaddeus, killing him, and chopping the poor tyke up in pieces, which is how the Montgomery's received his remains-in pieces in a box.

Driven even further insane with grief, Montgomery stitched the pieces back together and combined them with the heart from "one of our girls" (apparently an aborted fetus) and possibly some animals parts, and succeeded in bringing the infant back to "life", which turned out to be the life of a blood sucking monster. When it tried to take blood from Nora, she tried unsuccessfully to kill it with a letter opener, but it got away. Nora then killed her husband, and then herself. Poor Thaddeus apparently died of his wounds later, after some time spent living off the blood of insects and opossums.

Charles and Nora's spirits remain trapped in the house to this day, as does Thaddeus, as indeed do the spirits of anyone else who subsequently died in the house, which would seem to include most of those who ever lived there.

So what then is the true secret of Murder House? There seems to be two different types of ghosts, those who died there and whose bodies were discovered and buried (or whose bodies were at least removed elsewhere) and those whose bodies were hidden and remain somewhere on the premises.

The latter include the following, with some caveats-

Thaddeus-assuming he actually died.

Moira the maid-who was killed, shot through the eye, by Tate's mother Constance Langdon (Angela Lange) when she discovered her being raped by her husband (who she also murdered, ground up, and fed to her dogs), and who she buried secretly on the grounds of Murder House.

Hayden-A former lover of Ben's who was the reason the family left Boston to begin with. She followed Ben there and threatened him with the news she was pregnant by him, whereupon she was killed by Larry, yet another victim of the House (one of the few surviving ones, though scarred for life by a fire inflicted on him at the hands of Tate), who prevailed upon Ben to bury her with the long buried remains of Moira, then covering them with a gazebo he constructed himself.

Violet Harmon-daughter of Ben and Vivien Harmon, she committed suicide via drug overdose. Tate, her ghost lover, hid her body in a crawl space. She did not know for some time she was dead, having forgotten her own attempt on her life. When she was unable to leave the house, Tate told her the truth and showed her own own decaying remains.

An exterminator who discovered Violet's body in the crawl space and who was subsequently killed by Tate, because Violet realize she was dead and he was waiting for the right time to tell her.

Add to this the fully human son of Vivien, and possibly the unborn child of Hayden, and you have an interesting subset of ghosts. But what is so different about them in comparison to the others?

Well, the others remain stuck at the age in which they died. But the ones whose bodies remain there seem subject to the ravages of aging. Moira, for example, was murdered as a young woman in her prime, yet appears to be now a woman past middle age, well into her fifties or possibly even sixties.

Her she is as a young woman, played by Alexandra Breckenridge. This was her age at her murder, and is the way she appears to Ben and to any man she tries to seduce.

And here she is as she appears to all others, at the age she would be had she not died, and which is apparently her normal appearance, played by Francis Conroy.

As for the Infantate, though he still wears the period clothing of an infant of the twenties, and remains that basic size, he nevertheless presents the appearance of a wizened old man well into his eighties. In fact, here is a photo of him.

Everybody else listed was of course recently dead, so it is too early for any aging to be apparent. However, I am struck by something Constance said to Moira in one of the earliest episodes. She in effect warned her that "I'll kill you again".

So it could be that a ghost whose body remains at Murder House might not just be subject to the ravages of aging but of death as well. If so, is it not about time the Infantate, or Thaddeus, die a normal death of old age? And perhaps more to the point, is it possible that all the problems caused by the vicious Hayden might be solved simply by, well, killing her?

I won't speculate any further, because with this crazy ass show, just about anything is possible. But I did want to put that out there, as I have never seen any speculation as to the reason for the aging process of Moira other than that she is an "old soul", one who nevertheless can appear in the form of a beautiful, voluptuous woman, at the age at which she was murdered, whenever it suits her. And no one has ever commented on the apparent advanced old age of Thaddeus, the Infantata.

Maybe tonight on the season finale, we'll get some answers. But probably a whole lot of other questions as well.

Tebow Time

Tim Tebow and the Broncos finally lost after a six game winning streak, but they lost to the greatest team of the last decade, led by the greatest quarterback in that time frame. But though they lost handily by a score of 41-23 they didn't do so bad at that, all things considered. They kept it close until near the end of halftime, when they were only behind by one point, 17-16. Tebow even ran the pigskin in for a touchdown once after the half.Yet Brady's Patriots pulled away and stayed in control of the second half. So the Broncos lost, which means Tebow the prayer warrior lost. And while this will doubtless make the left happy, it really surprised no one, including the right, and most especially the gamblers.

I just don't get what all the controversy is about. So Tebow takes a knee sometime before the game (or is it after? I'm not really sure), and thanks his "lord and savior Jesus Christ". Let the record reflect he also gives a shout-out to his teammates, who he seems to rally every game. He is a proven leader and is likely headed down the path to an exceptional career.

I can understand why people might think Tebow's public prayer service is silly. or a distraction, or why they just don't like it, feel its inappropriate, whatever. But is it really that big a deal? I think this is just another ginned up media controversy myself. It's not like he's really praying for God to give him a win. He's just, you know, thanking him and stuff?

Nevertheless, you get fools like Bill Press chiming in, and you realize what its all about. In his and probably many other cases, it's likely just another way for some mediocre hack to draw attention to himself, and then whine about the lack of respect for his First Amendment rights when he is criticized, even though he is being purposely strident for that very reason. And let's face it, you don't get much more strident than telling somebody to "STFU about Jesus", as Press put it. Now you even have some idiot Rabbi inferring that if Tim Tebow were to somehow win the Super Bowl (which is not going to happen-sorry, not this year), it could lead to the Holocaust.

So far of course all that's happened is some high school kids took a knee in the school hallway between classes, which lead to an in-school suspension for the two brothers who instigated the "Tebowing" incident. Well, you know, you have to get to these potential brown-shirts while they're young, because otherwise, you never can tell. One day its praying in the hallways, and the next thing you know, its Krystalknacht all over again.

What really bothers the left, of course, is that Tebow is so widely admired by conservative Christians, who see him as a spokesman for Christian values, such as the pro-life movement. In other words, a repudiation of leftist "values". In fact, this so bothers the left there is a movement called 10 For Tebow that encourages donations to Pro-Choice causes every time Tebow scores a touchdown.

But leftists can relax a bit for now. Again, Tebow lost tonight to the Patriots, led by quarterback Tom Brady, who in 2004 supported the re-election of George W. Bush.

Whoops!

It's too bad I never had the talent to be an NFL quarterback. I could envision myself offering the sacrifice of a pig to Ares at the start of every game, and pissing off as many aggrieved groups as I possibly could. Not only due to Christian sensibilities regarding pagan rituals, but Muslims and Jews would find it doubly offensive due to the use of the pig. Vegetarians and animals rights groups would also have me in their cross-hairs, and by invoking Ares I can be sure to piss off the peaceniks as well. By that time I'd have managed to infuriate every other special interest group due to the solidarity of the left, sort of like a group of brain dead zombies in a George Romero film, folks who, having that one thing in common, exercise a kind of unreasoned, even nonsensical cohesiveness.

But at the end of the day, most people would only give a damn about how I played the fucking game. And that's the way it should be.

Invasion Of The Booger Eaters

People should be concerned about the recent rise in the polls of Texas Congressman Ron Paul who is currently polling in second or third place in Iowa, in some cases with more than twenty percent support. Can it hold? I doubt it, but every time a candidate rises, he either crashes and burn like Rick Perry, or his support leaks out as from a balloon, as is the case currently with Newt Gingrich. When this happens, people give somebody else a look, and right now, Ron Paul seems to be the main beneficiary of Gingrich's loss of support.

This is mainly disturbing in view of Paul's core group of supporters, who tend to be mainly comprised of Nazis, Klansmen, and not a few booger-eating conspiracy theorists. Then you have those who seem to gravitate freely amongst all groups of Paul supporters, such as is the case here.

Some Paul supporters are undoubtedly intelligent, thoughtful, and well-meaning, but make no mistake, what will wreck Paul's campaign in the long run are those "others". The American Thinker compiled a list of them as far back as 2007. Reason Magazine also came out with a post that identified the author and ghost-writer of many past Ron Paul newsletters, racist and antisemitic screeds which have been denied by Paul supporters and by Paul himself. But it turns out they were according to many reliable sources penned by none other than Lew Rockwell, a longtime Paul friend and supporter on up to this day.

But if you still need convincing, look no further than the horses mouth, the well-known Stormfront, where there is still no shortage of expressions of loyalty to Ron Paul. Interestingly enough, Paul refuses to disavow the support even of radical Neo-Nazis and Klansmen such as this, and gladly accepts donations from them as well.

Does this mean Paul is himself a racist and antisemite? No, I don't think so. They support Paul mainly because of his opposition to the federal reserve and his intention to end the welfare state in the course of slashing government spending. They also object to the Neocon policies that put America in the position of being the "policeman of the world" as Paul puts it. Do you see the problem here? If a Klansman or Nazi said it was raining in the middle of a thunderstorm, or declared support for the death penalty against rapists and murderers, one would be hard pressed to argue the point. But it would still be an embarrassment.

Yet, surely you can agree with even the most loathsome of people over specific issues without accepting their political support and endorsements, and taking their money. Paul has not yet learned that lesson, which is precisely what brings his integrity into disrepute.

Moreover, some of Paul's policies go beyond borderline racist into a dangerous naivete. The recent interception by Russia of radioactive materials targeted for transfer to Iran, as described at The Other McCain proves that point. Yet Paul insists to this day that Iran could be our friends, if we would only reach out. You know, sort of like Obama did when he first ran. How did that work out again?

To paraphrase an old saying, the Paultards would be dangerous if they had brains. Unfortunately, they seem to have one brain collectively among them, in the form of an octogenarian, naive libertarian idealist whose reasoning power is questionable at best. They will follow him to the gates of hell. And they want to make you follow him too.

Unfortunately, while he will not win the GOP nomination, he could indeed cause problems with perception for the Republican brand. Or more precisely, his followers could. Make no mistake, their legions might not be so huge as their passion infers, but they are out there (way out there).

And they are amongst us. Some of them are racists adherents of the Klan or some other neonazi organization or ideology. And some of them are merely the kind of deranged neurotic, possibly even psychotic type of person who genuinely believes the government planned out 9/11 possibly with the aid of Mossad and even members of a complicit media, for some mind-numbing purpose I have never completely been able to comprehend. These are the kinds of people who've spent their whole lives thinking somebody, somewhere, in some cases possibly from a galaxy far, far away, have been out to get them. And of course, all of us. They've just been smart enough to figure it out. And their leader, their savior, is Doctor Ron Paul.

Because Dr. Paul can make things right, you see. He can, yes, make it all right for them to step out of the shadows, lo, after all this time of living in fear and shame.

Shameful Example Of Child Exploitation By Homosexual Activist "Parent"

Michelle Bachmann was at a book signing appearance in South Carolina when she was approached by this little boy, Elijah who, obviously at the urgings of his "mother", whispered in Bachmann's ear "My mommy's gay and she doesn't need fixing". It's painfully obvious the little boy didn't want to do it, was uncomfortable enough that he had to be urged to repeat the message by his dyke mother. Even Bachmann, sensing the boys discomfort and probably legitimately concerned for him, motioned him close enough to her to where he could whisper the message to her. Bachmann was clearly shocked and taken aback by "his" message.

The main point to me is that this proves beyond any and all reasonable doubt homosexuals should be kept as far from children as possible. In a sense, though, Elijah might be very, very fortunate that his gay "parent" isn't a male homosexual IYKWIMAITYD

The Cain Train Wreck-We Just Couldn't Keep From Watching It

The question now is how everything shakes out. So says Donald Douglas at American Power about the recent announcement by Herman Cain that he is suspending his campaign. Robert Stacy McCain deserves a measure of respect and sympathy for the way he has steadfastly supported the Cain campaign almost from the beginning, while stoically ignoring my efforts to torture him with what has now become a kind of gallows humor on my part. But make no mistake, the Cain campaign became a walking corpse about two weeks ago. McCain himself got no respect for his efforts, as he himself has come to realize. He blames Cain's staff, a certain one in particular. But indeed this very post points out the systemic problem with Cain's campaign. It almost looks like its being conducted on the fly. But really, whose fault is that? Isn't Cain the guy who claimed he knew how to hire and surround himself with the right people, the kind of people who knew what they were doing, and who could give him the right kind of advice? Well, if his campaign turned into a clusterfuck based on Cain's hiring decisions, what ever would his presidency have been like?

Let's face facts here. Some people claim that Cain was promoting his book the whole time, and there might be a great deal of merit to the charge. But I think he was also and perhaps chiefly angling for an appointment. Possibly Secretary of Commerce, or possibly even as the next Chairman of the Federal Reserve when the next appointment comes up, assuming it will be under a Republican Administration. That does make sense, as Cain is a former Fed governor in the Kansas City Office. Hell, his whole 9-9-9 policy might have been an audition to head the IRS, or possibly even for the big prize, Secretary of Treasury. But I don't believe for one minute he seriously thought he had a shot at winning the GOP nomination. When he shot up in the polls after the implosion of the Perry candidacy, probably no one was more shocked than Herman Cain. It probably speaks volumes as to why Cain treated many of his biggest supporters in the blogosphere so shabbily, including even McCain, his most devoted blogging advocate. Any time Stacy reached out Cain probably secretly said "Hasn't he caused enough problems?"

But now it's all come to naught. And as far as I'm concerned its just as well. It's all well and good to point to Ronald Reagan as an example of a President who made decisions based on the expert advice of his staff. But hell, if that's the criterion, I or anybody else could be a great President. Unfortunately, you have to know how to pick the right staff. And perhaps more importantly, you have to know what the fuck they're talking about when they're advising you.

The whole damn thing has been a big waste of time and a distraction from valid candidates who might have had a legitimate impact and had a chance of winning, like Bachmann or Santorum. It still might not be too late, but I'm very much afraid we're nearing the end. But it could have been worse. Imagine what it would have been like if Cain's personal failings and general incompetence for high office had not come out until he had amassed a significant number of delegates, or conceivably even won the nomination.

As a general rule when you want to run for office, you start out small. Cain could have got Tea Party support for a run for House, Senate, or maybe Governor. But arrogance does strange things to people. It makes them think they should dream big even against all realistic odds of success, or even common sense.

Zombie Apocalypse And The End Of The Innocence

From what I've seen of the zombie apocalypse as related on The Walking Dead, I would describe the people afflicted in the following way-

When a person dies and comes back as a "walker", nothing is left of that person but his dead and decaying corpse, albeit reanimated by what seems to be a colony of viruses driven by an insatiable appetite for human flesh and blood. When a "walker" looks at you, growls, stalks you and attacks you, it is that colony of viruses working through the person much as you might think of a person possessed by a band of demons.

Herschell Green didn't see it that way, and when the survivors, desperate to find the missing Sophia and needing safe harbor after the hunting accident that almost claimed the life of Rick Grime's young son, took refuge on the Greene farm, they learned in time that Herschell saw them not as dead people reanimated by a virus, but as sick people who might one day be cured.

When they discovered Herschell kept in his barn captured walkers, many of whom were former friends and relatives, including his wife and step-son, it was Shane who took matters into his own hands and led the remainder of the survivors in what amounted to a massacre of the walkers, shooting them down as they filed out of the barn one by one, before doing so demonstrating to Herschell that this was not merely "sick people" by shooting a just captured walker multiple times in the torso with a high-powered rife, with no discernible effect.

Herschell and Rick watched helplessly as the massacre went unabated. Until the last walker came out of the barn, at which point the stunned survivors were faced with the same emotions Herschell had struggled with for months, in what was probably one of the best, most stunning, and most heart-wrenching, mid-season finales of all time.

When the show returns in February, more than one question will be answered, at least in part, not the least of which will be, how could this have happened without anyone's knowledge. Or was it a purposeful deception meant to protect the secret of the barn. But perhaps more importantly, the secret of the season one finale will finally be addressed. What was the big secret whispered by the doctor/scientist to Rick Grimes in the final moments before the Atlanta CDC exploded?

Some have posited he told Rick his wife Lori was pregnant, but I doubt that, since he seemed surprised when Lori told him this in the previous episode. The more likely guess bandied about is that he told him everyone was infected, which means everyone who dies will come back as a walker regardless of the means of death. The only difference a walker's bite makes is that it hastens the process. Which makes sense, given the countless numbers of walkers displayed thus far. It seems pretty obvious that not that many people would survive a bite long enough to escape a walkers grasp, then die and be reanimated, while most people who are eaten don't have enough left of them to return. An exception was "bicycle girl" from the series season one premiere, who was infected a few minutes before being half-eaten, the implication being the walkers stopped eating her when she "revived".

Whatever the case, I have no problem with the series thus far, unlike the myriads of other complainers who want non-stop zombie actions and chases, deaths, etc. That too would get old and predictable. I commend the writers for their focus on character development and story. In this show, believe me, there is plenty of blood and gore to go around. In fact, a little bit goes a long, long way.

I think I've said this before, but it bears repeating. The Walking Dead might not be the scariest show ever on television, but one thing is certain. It is for damn sure by far the nastiest.

Comrade Pelosi And The Rites Of Passage

The Noisy Room has a post about a little known initiative that is almost passing under the radar screen, practically unknown and almost completely unremarked. It's not just some minor bill or amendment being pressed by some minor or backbencher Congressman. In fact, right now its not a bill at all, but it is a major initiative favored by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi meant to control how your children are raised. In order to do this, she wants to pass a Federal Child Care Law. She knows she could never pass something like that now, of course, but this is one of her major goals, one of which she speaks often and unapologetically as she campaigns relentlessly to help Democrats take back the House of Representatives.

The Noisy Room was kind enough to provide a link to a page that would demonstrate just what this kind of government run child care might look like, from the earliest days of the Soviet era. TNR also provides a helpful passage which might be especially pertinent. Following is a small portion-

Communist society considers the social education of the rising generation to be one of the fundamental aspects of the new life. The old family, narrow and petty, where the parents quarrel and are only interested in their own offspring, is not capable of educating the “new person”. The playgrounds, gardens, homes and other amenities where the child will spend the greater part of the day under the supervision of qualified educators will, on the other hand, offer an environment in which the child can grow up a conscious communist who recognises the need for solidarity, comradeship, mutual help and loyalty to the collective. What responsibilities are left to the parents, when they no longer have to take charge of upbringing and education? The very small baby, you might answer, while it is still learning to walk and clinging to its mother’s skirt, still needs her attention.

The scary thing about it is that these very kinds of people, whether or not strictly communist, have had a stranglehold on our nation's educational system for decades, and they aren't about to relinquish their steely cold grip. We see it tightening at an alarmingly accelerating rate even as the overall quality of our children's education has in general declined to such a corresponding degree it could not be an accident, even if it is not intentional.

It has only been lately that so many of our major political figures on the left have actively pursued such a goal so openly, directly, and unapologetically. Perhaps it speaks to an air of desperation on the part of Democrats. After all, this is not something widely advertised or disseminated to the general public, but is a selling point Nancy Pelosi uses in her fund raising efforts among hard core leftist donors. Help return Democrats back to power in the House of Representatives, help them keep control of the Senate, and re-elect Barak Obama to a second term as President, and I, Nancy Pelosi, once and future Speaker of the House of Representatives, will give you a National Child Care Law.

This should come as no surprise. It has been a goal of the left, including liberal Democrats, for many decades, to establish complete control of the nation's education system and to indoctrinate schoolchildren to adhere to leftist dogma. This latest attempt by Pelosi is just the latest strain of the virus, and the one which might prove the most resistant to any political antibiotic should it ever be passed. After all, it would be yet another entitlement, one that so many would find attractive, and once it was established it would be extremely difficult and problematic for any politician to speak against it or try to repeal it. Or at least, that is Pelosi's hope, and if she is successful in regaining control of the House for the Democrats, she would feel she has the mandate and the same kind of power and influence she used to pass Obamacare.

She did it once, right? Don't think she would be shy about trying it a second time. Only this time, we don't really have to wait until the bill is passed before we know what's in it. Subsidized child care for the poor, at taxpayer expense, and maybe, just possibly, a mandate that you have to actually purchase child care from a qualified provider if you are at a certain income level or above.

Is there any question as to where all this could possibly lead? Vladimir Lenin would be so proud of his ideological twin sister.

Rick Perry Reaches Out To #Occupy Wall Street, Gets The O'Reilly Factor Smackdown

UPDATE-I've actually been called a liar concerning the content of this post, but thankfully Bob Belvedere of Camp Of The Saints has rode to my rescue and supplied the link to The O'Reilly Factor interview in question. Perry's incredibly naive remarks pertaining to the Occupy Wall Street movement and what he falsely believes to be their true motivations begins at about the 4:00 mark of the accompanying video.

Rick Perry just keeps on acting in ways that make him seem determined to wreck his campaign. Maybe he was serious all those times when he said he really wasn't interested in running for President, and some inner part of him just hasn't truly reconciled the conflict. Whatever the case, he really stepped in it last night on The O'Reilly Factor. It would have been bad enough as it was originally set up. See, I am reasonably sure O'Reilly is in the tank for Mitt Romney, so this whole interview with Perry was probably a set-up. But that's neither here nor there, because Perry just makes things so easy for his detractors.

O'Reilly questioned Perry about a new ad which criticizes Obama for supposedly calling Americans "lazy". I am very aware of the occasion, but there is a good reason you would very much in vain look through the archives of this blog for a post relating to it. Sorry, there's no there there, and I can find sufficient reasons and occasions to criticize Obama without making shit up, or portraying things out of context. That does not do the GOP cause any good, particularly as pertaining to matters when it is so blatantly, obviously false, and provably so. O'Reilly correctly pointed out that Obama was not referring to "the folks" but to those government entities, ambassadors and officials, who should try harder to sell America as a good investment.

That was bad enough, but then Perry really stepped in the shit when he started on the #OWS. Somehow, he seems to have swallowed the latest meme promoted by the mainstream media, and by Democrats, and others among the left, that all of the problems caused by the #OWS are a result of a minority of the demonstrators, or that somehow evil, vicious anarchists have taken over the movement, or corrupted it somehow. But the original premise of the group is still valid, supposedly, as are the intentions of the original members, who are actually the majority.

You would expect this kind of blathering nonsense from Democrats and the MSM, but from a GOP presidential candidate? I think Perry has solidly cemented himself alongside Herman Cain as a starring cast in the Not Ready For Prime Time Candidates.Unfortunately, there is as of yet no links I can point you to, but really, does it matter? At this point, Rick Perry should do the right thing and get out of the race, as his only legitimate role now is that of spoiler.

Who knows, maybe that's all he was ever meant to be.

The Pagan Temple Tentatively Endorses Michelle Bachmann

I think its funny how most Republicans are going way out of their way to nominate anybody but Mitt Romney. They started out with Michelle Bachmann, but when Rick Perry got in the race practically the same damn day Michelle won the Ames Iowa Straw Poll, people gravitated to the Texas governor who admittedly looks great on paper. We've been stirring the ingredients in this pot ever since.

We gave Michelle an all-too brief look, had a flubbedy-dubbedy conversation about Rick Perry, just recently got smashed up in the Cain Train derailment, and now we're all wanting to sit on the love seat by Uncle Newt, still wet with the Global Warming induced bodily juices of Nancy Pelosi. Through it all we sat and listened and watched as The Donald demanded birth certificates, while Tim Pawlenty whined about not being liked enough and while Chris Christy whined about being like too much. We watched with mouths agape as Mitch Daniels declared that no bitter clingers need apply, and Paul Ryan said, "Me? Hell no" (in so many words). We watched in amazement as the MSM told us if we were really smart we'd nominate Jon Huntsman, and we wondered when Rick Santorum would bring out the chain saw.

And still there is flappably unflappable, flippety floppety Mitt, holding a steady and firm hold on 24 percent of the GOP electorate, poised to take it all, while the Crazy Uncle of the Tea Party, Ron Paul, keeps managing to escape from the attic.

But we decided against Michelle Bachmann early. Why? Maybe she's too religious, or too conservative. Maybe she's a little nutty. After all, she mixed up the birthplace of John Wayne Gacy as the birthplace of John Wayne, and accepted as truth an anecdote from a supporter who claimed her daughter suffered brain damage as a result of a forced Gardasil vaccination. Maybe they're afraid Marcus her husband (with whom she's had not one or two show children, but FUCKING FIVE) is a closet homosexual, or maybe they resent his insistence that homosexuality can be cured, to the extent he runs a business based on that proposition, that a man or a woman can be what the hell they want to be.

Whatever the reason-and granted, there is some validity to some of them-there can be no doubt that Michelle Bachmann is the one candidate who has stood the test of time. She has not wavered, has stood strong, and continued the good fight.

Because of this, and because I think she's the candidate most likely to reach across the aisle and rip Obama's smug fucking face off in a debate, I support Michelle Bachmann for the GOP nomination. Note I said this is tentative. Nothing should ever be written in stone.

But this lady is, despite what the leftist smear merchants and their "Republican" and "conservative" fellow travelers say, far from merely another far right wing ideologue and wingnut. She knows her stuff, as demonstrated in the below video.

UPDATE-Since I'm getting ready to move on to newer posts, I'm going to remove the embed, since it plays automatically and I can't change that, which would be irritating having to scroll down the page to find it to turn off the sound. However, here is the link to the radio interview, and I urge any who read this post to go there and listen to this very compelling interview of radio personality Mark Madden. First of course, read this post in its entirety, as near the end I give the most pertinent points of the interview in the timeline. Although I can't of course vouch for the veracity of all the charges against Jerry Sandusky-or Joe Paterno-it's nevertheless an interview you don't want to miss.

I've also included an update about Saturday's game between Penn State and the visiting Nebraska Cornhuskers.

You know what I'd hate to be this weekend? A Nebraska Cornhusker football player, or for that matter, one of the many Cornhusker fans at the game, which due to fallout over the recent scandal has raised security concerns. Because no matter how the game turns out, its going to be messy. The Nittany Lions might well be so distracted and demoralized by the recent scandal that culminated late yesterday in the firing of legendary Penn State Head Coach Joe Paterno, in which case their victory will be a hollow one. Or, the Nittany Lions could be out for blood and satisfaction to such an extent that their last home game, the much vaunted Senior's Day, could result in a romp of the Cornhuskers. Don't be surprised too much if the penalty flags start flying early and often. Hopefully, there won't be any serious injuries for either side. But, don't bet on that.

Penn State fans were so outraged they took to the campus last night in an orgy of protest that could have been much worse than what it ended up being. Thankfully, no one was injured, and the only significant property damage was that of a news van that was overturned, its windows then kicked out.

But this was a situation that could not have been addressed in any other way. When Jerry Sandusky was reported to have sodomized a ten year old boy in a Penn State locker room, the authorities should have been informed immediately. Instead, what transpired over the course of at least the last nine years, and which did involve Paterno, can only be described as a coverup of near epic proportions, assuming all the current reports are to be taken at face value.

But what has been reported so far may be just a very small tip of a very big iceberg. And if what is currently being alleged by some turns out to be true, its not going to be a matter of the other shoe dropping, but several other shoes kicking the Penn State legacy clean in the nuts.

According to Pittsburg talk show host Mark Madden, in fact, Jerry Sandusky, who founded a non-profit agency for young boys, did not merely use The Second Mile as his own private procurement agency for sex with young boys-

Yes, as sickening as it sounds, that is what is being alleged. After what has been reported so far, is it really that hard to believe? I just wonder how many of them are former or even current members of the Penn State Alumni Association. This is going to be really bad, and you have to wonder whether or not Penn State might actually face legal, criminal and civil actions because of this. This could even warrant sanctions by the NCAA.

It's hard to see how Penn State recovers from this in our lifetimes. This could destroy all their athletic programs, including but not limited to football. Think about it. If you were a star high school athlete offered a scholarship, or even a chance to play as a walk-on, at any first class university, would Penn State be your first choice, or even in your top ten, after this?

It makes it somewhat easy to empathize with the kids at Penn State, who are having to come to grips with their whole universe turning upside down practically overnight. And if this is true, its only going to get worse.

Just for them, this Saturday, I'll be rooting for them.

UPDATE-Since the above radio interview with Mark Madden is fairly long, I thought it might be helpful to provide a timeline of the three most important points relevant to the new information. They are approximations, possibly off by two or three seconds, but are as follows-

7:43-Madden alleges that Sandusky used The Second Mile as a way to procure young boys for sexual puposes.

8:06-It is highly probably that Sandusky was allowed to take an early retirement, at the age of fifty-five, in exchange for a coverup, and that the situation was well known among the highest levels of the Penn State Administration and the football coaching staff. Yet, Sandusky continued to make use of the Penn State facilities and was more or less a permanent fixture at Penn State even after his retirement.

13:43-Joe Paterno didn't just have a vague idea of what was going on. He knew the situation with Sandusky "in great detail", or this was at least the case as pertaining to the one incident in 2002 with the ten year old boy in the locker room showers whom Sandusky is alleged to have sodomized.

In closing I apologize for the radio embed, I typically don't embed players that play automatically, and frankly its getting to be a pain in the ass. But I thought this story was too important not to spread.

Finally, I am frankly worried that this story might be swept under the rug and ignored. This might involve some very wealthy, influential people, and more to the point, known homosexuals and it could be a cause for concern if the homosexual community starts alleging false accusations and "homophobia", or "gay-bashing", etc. Which would be bullshit, but there you have it. I hope I am wrong, as it would be a shame if this were glossed over for the sake of a politically connected special interest group, but I'm very much afraid that's what might happen here.

UPDATE-The fans and the players of Penn State acquitted themselves well yesterday. Unfortunately, Penn State lost, but still played admirably, almost overcoming a 17-0 nothing deficit beginning near the end of the third quarter, only to ultimately lose by a respectable score of 17-14.

Before the game, past and present Penn State players joined on the field with the visiting Nebraska Cornhuskers in a touching prayer for the young victims, which are rumored to be far greater in number than the eight now being alleged.

Other than some turbulence at the tailgating aimed mostly at the media by some boisterously angry fans, the crowd was engaged, yet respectable throughout the game. I was also wrong about the penalties. There were some, but not that many, probably not as many as in a typical game, and nothing that really stands out, other than one bizarre instance in which a Nittany Lion offensive player was called for a face mask violation against a Cornhusker on the defensive squad, which is an exceeding rare penalty.

Otherwise, a good game. A clean game. And surreal.

Fox Basically Has A Liberal Democrat Problem

I was having a late breakfast this morning, and I had the Fox News Show Happening Now on in the background, where a Mr. Joe Cirincione of the State Department was being interviewed by Jenna Lee about the current controversy regarding the nation of Iran. Cirincione has been hyped as some kind of nuclear expert and was giving his opinion about current worries about Iran's nuclear program. I wasn't really paying that much attention, until I heard him mention the name of GOP presidential primary candidate Herman Cain. When I heard what he said, I was so shocked I literally jumped up from my chair and practically ran into the living room. I was so shocked I wasn't exactly sure I had heard what I thought I had, so later I went on the Fox News website and found the Happening Now Blog.

Sure enough, others had heard it, and were commenting on it. One of the commenters was kind enough to supply what seems to have been a direct quote. Or if not, it was close enough to what I remembered I copied it and pasted it below, as follows-

"Iran basically has a Herman Cain problem, they both DID something terribly wrong in the past that is now being disclosed. It is humiliating to try to acknowledged what happened."

Like i said, I couldn't believe my ears, and evidently many others are equally outraged. Some blame Jenna Lee for not calling him, but frankly, what could she say? This interview had nothing whatsoever to do with Mr. Cain, and she clearly was not prepared for such an obvious political hit job.

Fox should issue an apology to Mr. Cain, his family, his campaign, and his supporters, which by the way I am not one, though I would have zero problem voting for him or supporting him should he win the nomination.

Furthermore, this Democratic apparatchik should no longer be invited on Fox to speak on any matter whatsoever. And while they're at it, there are a plethora of other leftists and liberal Democrats who should be given the boot.

One of these days the Koch Brothers or someone similar are going to realize that a cable news channel that in addition to hard news and investigative journalism, is devoted to the discussion of conservative issues with a minimum of liberal bullshit, would bury Fox along with every other "news" show currently running.

Fair and balanced. It was good while it lasted, but its run its course. You can only put up with a minimum of vermin infestation. Before long they get to the point where they start to take over, and then you have a problem. Before long, the integrity of your dwelling becomes so compromised it is no longer fit for human habitation. What happened today is just one sign among many that its time for Fox to call the exterminators.

Shepherd Smith went ballistic a few days ago when a couple of expert legal guests, in discussing the latest developments regarding the case of missing Kansas City baby Lisa Irwin, stated that sometimes the police are more interested in closing a case than they are in solving it. They also said plainly that sometimes cops will rush to judgment to the closest available suspect in order to do so. If you want to see somebody get their panties in a knot, watch the following video courtesy of Mediaite. Warning-its not pretty, but it is kind of, well, hilarious. He even defends the actions of policemen who in an earlier time arrested him and a friend for open container. Shep obviously loves him some po-po.

Now that's dedication to our men in blue. I thought it might be interesting to go digging into Shep's past, to see if I could find just what was the genesis of his devotion to our nation's law enforcement. Thankfully, police interrogations are typically videotaped and stored in archives for future reference. With some digging, I think I might have found the video of the interrogation Shep underwent so long ago which he alluded to in the first video. It's a little rough, but hey, who knows? I know he doesn't seem the type who would like things rough, but you never can tell about our Shep.

Report On Occupy DC

Michelle Fields deserves some kind of journalism award for her report on The Daily Caller, along with combat pay. At one point, protesters are blocking traffic, refusing to allow a man with a child to pass. They pushed an old woman to the ground, causing what was hopefully a minor injury. But they get all worked up when somebody stepped on the gas when a couple of the mangy assholes stepped out in front of their automobile, and the police let the driver of the car in question go. I'm not sure I get what the bit was with the woman, man and the two young kids, but it seems like they were acting in an untoward way toward the family and the woman let them all have it and then stormed off.

Throughout all of this, Michelle Fields was harangued by the Occupy protesters, who accused her of making up her reports while some of them chanted "Fuck the Daily Caller".

As hard as it is to believe, it is even worse than the video demonstrates. This all took place when Americans For Prosperity tried to conduct a conference entitled "Defending The American Dream Summit". The Occupy Protesters were trying to storm the meeting, and Fields, who had been assigned by the Daily Caller to cover the protests, was there to film the attempt.

Robert Stacy McCain, who was present at the seminar, interviewed Fields for his blog The Other McCain following the events on the videotape. According to her, they followed her around, purposely blocking her from interviewing any of the participants, and even insulted her clothes. Apparently they didn't like the company Ann Taylor, where they assumed she got her clothes. And according to her, they also screamed out repeatedly "Fuck Michelle Fields" although unfortunately not while she was in the process of recording them.

Yeah, these fucking animals are just like the Tea Party, huh?

National Novel Writing Month

Can you write a novel by the end of the month? If so, you might be interested in National Novel Writing Month You are required to register on the site, where they can track your progress, offer you support, and supply a forum of like minded writers. If you get er done by the end of the month, you'll see it published on-line. I'm seriously thinking of giving it a shot. The catch is, it has to be 50,000 words or more. I'm not sure, but I think that works out to 1700 words a day, which is roughly five pages, I think. That is not as easy as it might sound, by the way. I just found out about this, so I don't know if I can do it without sacrificing time for other matters. Obviously, quality would be one of them.

But I think I do have a partial solution. Tarot cards. Yep, I'll draw a card at the end of every night, sleep on it, and craft the novel based on what card, or cards, I draw.

It might be interesting, but I just wish I had known about it ahead of time. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any prizes, outside of the title, and of course the bragging rights. But if anything else, this might be a good motivational exercise.

Death Of A Street Poet

I've been trying to avoid letting my blog be taken over by the Occupy Wall Street movement, but there are some things that bear mention, and a Halloween death is impossible for me to ignore. Gateway Pundit tells the story of the for now unnamed homeless man, known for now only as "Street Poet", who died over Halloween while availing himself of the "hospitality" of the Occupy Oklahoma City protesters. It's pretty sad. The guy was a homeless drug addict who suffered from asthma, and over the previous two days before he was found dead in his tent, he complained of breathing problems. Instead of taking him to a clinic or an emergency room, the protesters housed him, fed him and fattened him for the slaughter. Now they have their symbol, an image of homelessness and despair to contrast against the "corporate greed" of the "1%". Here he is sometime before his death.

Wait and see if the Occupy Movement doesn't blame his death on capitalism and corporate greed. Uh, no, he rushed headlong into his own demise, however out of control he might have been, and he didn't get any help from you, you scumbag hipsters. In fact, capitalism didn't kill him. Wall Street didn't kill him. You sat back and fed him, encouraged him, listened to his sad attempts at rap, yet ignored his obvious need for medical attention. So if anyone is responsible for his demise, besides himself-that would be you. You let him die.

But hey, you good what you wanted. Another symbol, this one in the form of a needles, senseless death to exploit.

Haxan-A Great Witchcraft Film From The Silent Era

The following movie is actually just one segment from a silent film from 1922. Somebody added the soundtrack, a Satanic prayer. The film, named Haxan (The Witches), by Danish filmmaker Benjamin Christensen, was in fact a documentary based on Christensen's study of Malleus Maleficarum, which in the fifteenth century was a respected study of witches used by witch hunters and inquisitors. Christensen wanted to make a film which he hoped would explain the mythology behind witchcraft, and how the beliefs and legends grew over the centuries.

The following clip from the film is a dramatization of Christensen's vision, not of what he believed actually happened, but of what people genuinely believed, and feared, as he saw it.

Not surprisingly, the film was banned in the US and was heavily censored in much of Europe. Nevertheless, it has become recognized as one of the great cinematic achievements of the early film era.

This is the best rendering of the Minotaur I've ever seen. I started out looking for an old painting by an artist named George Frederick Watts, painted in the 1880's, when I found this. Unfortunately, I have no idea who did this artwork. All I know is its advertised as a "free wallpaper".

To me, to captures perfectly the inherent nature of the beast. The savagery, the insatiable blood lust, In addition to the sheer sense of debauchery and corruption that led to the creatures birth, hidden life, and ultimate demise.

I see the Minotaur as a symbol of the hidden, unconscious savage nature we constantly try to bury and contain within the hidden recesses of the unconscious mind. When we come face to face with him within our own private labyrinth, we are in effect coming face to face with our own inner beast.

House Of Horrors No Longer In Business

No, the man in the above photo is not going to a Halloween Party, he's actually standing outside the doors of his former abortion clinic in Rockford Illinois, taunting the Christians who used to stand outside his clinic on a regular basis protesting his business. Note I said former, because the business has now been shut down.

This was because of numerous safety and health violations that seemed to be a systemic problem with the clinic. The closing of this clinic, which transpired near the end of September, is important for a variety of reasons.

One, the fact that it was in Illinois, arguably the most liberal of all Midwestern states, dominated by the state Democratic Party and/or the Chicago machine, speaks to the reality of shifting attitudes. After all, when Roe v Wade was first decided in 1973, the science was far from settled as to whether or not an unborn child was truly alive. Now it has been settled, and there is no doubt that an unborn baby is alive, and has feelings and emotions. It's not just a glob of tissue. As such, more and more people are starting to view abortion in general as murder.

It's also important to note that, being in Rockford, the clinic was across the state line from Wisconsin, which has a parental notification law. This clinic provided a way out, a safe haven for teens who wished to acquire an abortion and avoid Wisconsin law. That avenue has now been thankfully closed. Nothing to me is more despicable than passing a law permitting abortions for young teen girls without notifying the child's parents, and for someone to take one across the state line in order to get an abortion should be grounds for a federal indictment, both of the responsible adult as well as the clinic operators.

And worst of all, not only does the left and the Democratic Party support this, they want the taxpayers to subsidize it. And they aren't asking nicely either.

I'm not one of these that favor outlawing abortion at the federal level, either by way of legislation or by constitutional amendment. But its high time Roe v Wade was overturned and the matter left to the purview of the individual states, including the matter of what to do with those adults who take children across state lines, for this or any other purpose, without their parents knowing consent.

Its just too bad there's no comprehensive way of dealing with those cases where an abortion might be justified, especially due to life and health issues, or rape. But it is what it is.

Nowhere To Turn To, Nowhere To Hide

Since Halloween is a day when the dead walk the earth and we strive to pay them due honor and respect (or should) I want to say something about one kid who left this world far too quickly, and while here got little respect in life. His name was Jamey Roddermeyer, from Buffalo New York. He was bullied mercilessly by classmates, because he was supposedly a homosexual. Watch this video he made for the It Gets Better Project shortly before he died.

Notice the level of discomfort he betrays when talking about the level of support he had received from the homosexual community, and from strangers, which he says he knows "sounds creepy" as though he is trying to shrug off the germs. This happens at just after the 1:40 mark of this 2:05 minute video. In another part he inadvertently lowers his voice a slight degree as he glances around nervously, apparently at his bedroom door.

If this kid was a homosexual, then he was sick, in my opinion, in the throes of a delusion. So why in the hell harass him? Would you harass somebody that had cancer?

Of course, I'm wasting my time explaining this to heterosexual bullies, because 1, they don't give a damn, and 2, they don't give a damn. But its incumbent on parents and teachers to understand this phenomenon, and try to get some kind of control over it. After all, not all kids who are bullied are gay (not that it would make it all right if that was the case). Just recently, there was a young kid in Covington Kentucky who, like Jamey, committed suicide because he was constantly bullied. Yet, there was no indication at all that he was gay. He was Sam Denham a nice kid who just wanted to be friends with people and help those who needed help.

A sign of weakness to bullies, and probably to most kids. And there's the rub. Until we understand what causes bullying, it will not get better. This is a primal urge with roots back in prehistory, when the weak were outcast and even destroyed, or made completely subservient to the will of the strong. Bullying is just an outgrowth of that, and it was and is based on an unconscious drive aimed at strengthening the species. This is why a sick animal will be left behind by the herd, even its immediate family. While healthy enough to travel with the herd, they serve the function of being the prey to an attacking predator and thus enabling the others to escape with their hides intact. When they get too weak, or old, to keep up, then they no longer fulfill this function. In fact, they become a hindrance.

So when kids fight, or when they brutalize a smaller, weaker child, they are following the same pattern of asserting their authority, manhood, or worth to the tribe as two buck deers when they lock horns. The bullied kid is worth nothing more, and as a result has no self-worth.

There are ways of dealing with this, by sublimation, and in previous years sports provided a vital outlet. Now, however, in many schools, sports are frowned upon, at least in more "progressive" districts, discouraged by those who don't want to see any child excel or stand out above his or her peers. This mindset, while not prevalent in sports in most schools, yet, still rears its ugly head in other areas of public school, even in the grading system in many cases, while kids are hammered constantly with the demands that they treat all minority groups with a kind of respect that nearly amounts to deference. We are not allowed to express certain aspects of cultural pride in our own European ethnicity, or increasingly even pride as Americans. Yet, such ethnic and cultural and even religious pride is not only encouraged among minority children, it is expected, all but demanded of them.

Is it any wonder then that bullying, aggression, and hostility, having fewer and fewer outlets provided it for positive manifestation, has instead metastasized? And in the meantime, we as a society are encouraged to be supportive of homosexual behavior, which not too long ago was seen by mental health professionals as a sickness and a delusion (rightly in my opinion), to the extent that it almost seems as though homosexual activists are actually trolling public schools for naive, insecure boys and girls to indoctrinate, if you will. As such, homosexuals, in and out of the school yard, seem to be growing into more and more of a protected class status. And the more misguided educators and other adults encourage them to "come out", the more of a target they become.

Ironically, though I concede I might be wrong, I don't think Jamey was a homosexual. He might have been, he might not have been. He might have just been a weak, insecure kid going through puberty and not knowing how to deal with his feelings and the hormones raging through him. On the one hand, not having any "guy friends", only girlfriends, and facing constant bullying and harassment. Maybe he was nothing more than an effeminate boy who made an easy target.

For whatever reason, he reached out, and found aid and support from the homosexual community, and I'm sure he was quite popular. He received tons of support and encouragement from homosexuals and their supporters in the greater community, and seemed to have a supportive family as well.

Yet, he killed himself. How, I am not clear, though he was found in his family's front yard. Assuming he did really kill himself purposely, and not through an accidental overdose in a desperate attempt at self-medication, the question remains, why?

This is why I am personally convinced that he was not really a homosexual, he was just going through a great deal of confusion. Unfortunately he had no one to whom he could turn to, no one he could trust. On the one hand he was bullied by people who hated homosexuals, while on the other he was pressured to be a homosexual by gay activists and their supporters, in school and out. He had no choice in the matter, it seems, but to accept the fact that he was a homosexual. And at his age, that was a choice he not only didn't feel comfortable making, it was one he didn't have to make. Not at the age of fourteen.

Yes, he killed himself, but he had all kinds of help getting to that decision, from both sides of the issue, and no reason to not go through with it, from his perspective. After all, he wasn't just some messed up kid in desperate need of acceptance, love, and help. He was far more important than that. He was a symbol, and he was made to know that he had a responsibility, one that was greater than the feelings and insecurities of a fourteen year old boy.

He owed it to some obscene movement to speak for all of them, and to be out and proud. In the meantime, the bullies on one side of the issue hated him, and many other bullies from the other side of the issue wanted to go down on him. And the responsible adults in his life either didn't know the right way to deal with it, or in the case of the educators in his life, were hamstrung by political correctness if they cared at all.

You all helped kill this kid. Yay, good job douchebags.

The Nobodies

Susan Bradford has written a book about it, called Lynched!: The Shocking Story of How the Political Establishment Manufactured a Scandal to Have Republican Super-lobbyist Jack Abramoff Removed from Power [Paperback]

I recently ran across her blog, Susan Bradford Press, where on the post titled The Shamelessness Of The Washington Post Knows No Bounds she went into some detail mainly about the culpability of the Washington Post in helping to engineer the downfall of Abramoff. But in this post she also explains how the Posts villainy culminated in John McCain using his Senate influence to call a special committee hearing on behalf of his own lobbyist friends and Abramoff rivals, and how this was instrumental in Abramoff's persecution.

I was mainly curious as to whether she considered McCain to be a dupe, or whether he was willingly involved in the effort to intentionally destroy Jack Abramoff. I was pleasantly surprised to receive an answer from Susan the same day I posted the query, and she gave me permission to post it in full. It follows, along with a subsequent response from me, and again from Susan.

SUSAN BRADFORD-Thank you for writing. Is your question: was McCain duped in the Abramoff conspiracy? I know that legislators are tremendously busy and rely heavily upon the advice and judgments of others. Since I never interviewed McCain, I cannot answer with complete certainty.

However, according to Indians close to McCain, the Senator’s wife, Cindy, demanded that he take down Abramoff after losing the South Carolina primary of 2000 since she was under the mistaken belief that the lobbyist spread the rumor that she was a drug abuser.

There are a number of indications that McCain carefully orchestrated the take down of Abramoff. Many participants were offered/cut deals. For example, Louisiana Coushatta Council Member William Worfel, who defended Abramoff, changed his position after McCain invited him to appear in the hearings with the representation of Roy Fletcher, counsel McCain personally recommended to him after promising that he would amend the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, with the advice of Worfel. In addition, the firms involved were aligned with McCain.

McCain was personally close to the accusers. In fact, he even used his office to act on their behalf. The accusations brought forth against Abramoff in his hearings could easily have applied to McCain’s own fund raisers – including the exceptional fees Abramoff was able to command from tribes. Lobbying firms close to McCain micro-managed the hearings, investigation, and media to acquire the results they sought.

McCain, in turn, used the information he had acquired to challenge political opponents, like JD Hayworth — and others, by threatening to either turn the investigation on them or slander them by tarring them with the Abramoff scandal.

In fact, he used the scandal, after removing from power a lobbyist who had thwarted his presidential ambitions in 2000, to position himself for a second presidential run in 2008. McCain was no innocent bystander.

What is unclear is what and how much he knew. My view is that McCain is an incredibly savvy and ruthless political operator who knew exactly what he was doing and was arrogant enough to think he could get away with it.

Rather shocking for many people, wrongful convictions are becoming more common than not.

This is really some interesting stuff here, and could be very important. I for one never questioned Abramoff’s guilt. I just assumed everything I had heard was basically the truth. I was never a McCain fan though, so this doesn’t really surprise me, other than it ever seeing the light of day. If the truth was known, this is probably the tip of the iceberg.

There the conversation ends, and I think I should point out that the reason I made the statement that I assumed her attorney was all right with her discussing this is because there is currently a lawsuit in the works, in which Susan Bradford is seeking damages from The Huffington Post. The Post, the lawsuit claims, made an agreement with Bradford to publish her story, and then reneged on the agreement. At some later date, however, they published the story and attributed it to a different author.

I just learned all of this today and am still digging. Sometime tomorrow I'll try to update with some links pertaining to the suit.

For now though I'll just end this by saying that if this is true-and I have no reason whatsoever to doubt Ms Bradford or her story-this could be really big, and a lot of people could go down, not the least of whom is Senator John McCain.

Mitt Romney-Future Ten Commandments Of The Once And Future God

Some might remember a while back when Rick Perry was introduced at the Value Voters Summit by a certain Baptist Minister who proclaimed that Mormonism, the religion of Perry rival Mitt Romney, was a cult. It caused a firestorm of controversy. Many conservative bloggers considered it a distraction which the liberal media would gleefully use to tear apart any conceivable hope of Republican unity. Even many of those who support Rick Perry, such as Emperor Misha, quickly jumped to Romney's defense. Such vile anti-Mormon bigotry has no place in electoral politics according to Misha, owner of The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler.

Meanwhile, Lemuel Calhoun of Hillbilly White Trash is more or less in agreement to the extent that a person's religion should not be the determining factor as to his or her worth or ability to be president so long as that person follows and adheres to the constitution. However, Lem points out that it is wrong to demand that any other presidential candidate deny that Mormonism is a cult, and goes on to relate some key beliefs of Mormon doctrine. From Lem's post-

They believe that he was born a mortal human in the distant past on a distant planet (a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away) and that he earned his godhood by perfect obedience to the Mormon religion. Lem goes on to explain that all Mormons who qualify by adherence to the faith will at some point repeat this same process. Having read this, on reflection it gradually dawned on me exactly what Romney's true goals might be.

Robert Stacy McCain nails it in this post about the current state of sexual education and, if recent events in the New York school system are any indication of what's coming nationally, soon your kids will be nailing it as well. And by "it" I'm not talking about the honor role.

And this is not high school students. This is 11-year-olds. This is New York-

New York City 11-year-olds will soon be learning sex education from workbooks that include instruction on “mutual masturbation, French kissing, oral and anal sex, and “intercourse using a condom and an oil-based lubricant.”
The shocking revelations were uncovered in “recommended” workbooks reviewed by The New York Post. . . .
One of the preferred resources for students is Columbia University’s website, “Go Ask Alice,” the Post reported. That site includes discussions on topics ranging from “doggie-style,” oral sex with braces, fetishes, and “sadomasochistic sex play.”

As for how this story applies nationally, here's the new rules from the Department of Education-

Starting in the spring, the DOE will require one semester of sex ed in sixth or seventh grades and one in ninth or 10th.
It says schools can pick any curriculum but recommends the widely used HealthSmart and Reducing the Risk programs and trains teachers to use them.

By the time most kids graduate, its up in the air whether they can read or write in comprehensive sentences or perform simple math. But at least they'll know how to perform every sex act known to man.

New York Lawmakers Told "Time To Kill The Wealthy"

According to Politico that is the subject line in an e-mail sent to Republican New York State Senate leaders concerning a New York State surcharge on the wealthy which was passed in 2009 and is due to expire. The e-mail in question demanded the tax be renewed. The tax levies an extra one percent tax on anyone making over 200,000 dollars a year, and a extra 2.12 percent on those making over 500,000 dollars a year. One part of the e-mail states-

“It’s time to tax the millionaires!” reads the email, according to WTEN in Albany. “If you don’t, I’m going to pay a visit with my carbine to one of those tech companies you are so proud of and shoot every spoiled Ivy League [expletive] I can find.”

To be sure the message was clear, the sender got even more specific-

“How hard is it for us to stake out one of the obvious access roads to some tech company, tail an employee home and toss a liquor bottle full of flaming gasoline through their nice picture window into their cute house,” wrote the author of the email.

The message asserted that the "wealthiest 1 percent" were being assisted in the confiscation of the wealth of the bottom ninety-nine percent, as though the wealthiest Americans were thieves who stole their riches from the poor.

This is presumably an outgrowth of the recent Occupy Wall Street Movement, which has been recently promoted and supported by the media, 9/11 Truthers, Stormfront, the SEIU and other unions, and progressive activists, leftist celebrities, Mahmoud Ahmadinajahd and the Iranian regime, Democratic lawmakers, and, oh yeah, Barak Obama.

New York Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo is on record as joining the Republicans in the state legislature in opposing as extension of the surcharge on wealth. No word as yet as to whether he also received a copy of the e-mail in question.

But there can be no doubt that these people are dangerous, and need to be dealt with in a way that is direct and, let's just say, definitive.

Huntsman Brings Out The Big Cannons

Jon Huntsman, the moderate GOP presidential candidate whom Democrats really want Republicans to nominate for 2012, has unveiled his super secret weapon. It seems to have slowly sunk in that he's not going to get the nomination based on his good looks, any more than he will as a former political appointee of Barak Obama, whom he once praised in the most sickeningly saccharine and effusive terms.

His new strategy? Their names are Liddy, Abby, and Mary Ann, and they are his daughters. What time they haven't been posting to their blog on the Huffington Post, they have been making campaign appearances both on the stump and on the cable news networks and talk shows.

And, in order to really get the message out, they have started their own Twitter account, Huntsman Daughters. They've already got their own fan club, but do they have what it takes to get their dad into the Oval Office?

Uhhhm, no, and I don't think they're seriously thinking they can. Since two of the three girls are single, I think they're husband hunting, or maybe just engaged in some other degree of self-promotion. Which is fine. I'm all in, and am now on record as asking the Hunstman Sons-In-Law if I can have sloppy seconds. So far, no answer to that, or to these tweets to the girls I made from my Twitter page. All in fun of course, but I did feel it my duty to make the girls face the cold, hard facts. I don't know if they've ever read any of my tweets, of course, but if they have, I'm sure they don't take me seriously, any more than I do them or their father, who is probably a good man, but just not the right man for the job. Not this year, and probably not ever, as Jon Huntsman represents a style of Republican politics that is frankly on the endangered species list.

And I stand by that. Jon Huntsman is being used, possibly of his own volition, as a stalking horse to keep Romney from getting the nomination. The reason being that the people backing him on this foolish, ill-advised run have it in their heads that a successful Huntsman candidacy would result in a man who many conservatives would absolutely refuse to support, due to his past statements in support of the belief in Anthropogenic Global Climate Change and gay civil unions, in addition to his moderate approach to compromise with the Democrats,and also due to the fact he has worked for two Democrat Administrations, going so far as to express admiration for both Clinton and, especially, Barak Obama.

Democrats know that Hunstman would be the reincarnation of the Gerald Ford, Bob Dole, John McCain style of campaign that would limit if not outright refuse to engage in "negative campaigning" (which is how Democrats define telling the truth about their policies and candidates)and will treat Obama with deference and respect.

On the other hand, should Huntsman lose, the hope is it would nevertheless result in enough votes drained from Romney as to result in the nomination of someone who is seen as too far right-wing to get the votes of moderate independents and moderate or conservative Democrats who might be dismayed at the results of Obama policies.

From the perspective of the Democrats, the one candidate they fear most is Romney. Or this was the case when Huntsman first started his run. I think now they've started to realize they have no more to fear from Romney than they do Huntsman. For that reason, the Hunstman campaign just cannot and will not gain any traction with GOP voters, for the same reason Romney has never been able to break thirty percent in polling of Republican voters, including likely voters, despite being the only establishment candidate in the race with any support at all.

Most Republicans want to win, but not at the expense of compromising conservative principles. That is the implication of a Romney campaign, and the idea of a Hunstman candidacy is Romney times two.

The girls do make a good case. Just not for their dad. For themselves, as devoted daughters, yes. But if they do ever see my tweets to them, I hope this is the one they take the most seriously, though it might be the hardest one to take.

And they seem bound and determined to prove my point yet again, by calling for Major League Baseball to impose a voluntary ban on smokeless tobacco during the upcoming World Series between St. Louis and Texas.

See, this is how clever these progressives are. Dick Durbin of Illinois (the number two Dem asshat in the Senate), along with Frank "DeCavalcade" Lautenberg of New Jersey, Tom "Ethanol Subsides" Harkin of Iowa, and Richard "Prosecutorial Misconduct" Blumenthal of Connecticut, aren't threatening to pass a law or anything, they want Major League Baseball, and the Player's Association, to ban smokeless tobacco on a voluntary basis-you know, for the good of the chiiiii-dren. This, of course, is their fall back strategy when accusations of racism, sexism, homophobia and general intolerance start to lose their respective edges. They trot out the kids and try to tug at the heartstrings by appealing to our sense of responsibility and what not. It's the old commie diversionary tactic I like to call the commie two-stomp. Step back, obfuscate, reverse course, sidestep, and then go full steam ahead towards the ultimate goal. You know, that one that never changes with these scum, which is full on government control of all aspects of the economy, and society at large. They can't even leave our national pastime in peace.

Durbin and three other Democratic senators asked the Major League Baseball Players Association to prohibit use all tobacco products on the field, in the dugout and even in locker rooms at Major League Baseball parks.

Who would be affected by seeing the players use tobacco in THE FUCKING LOCKER ROOMS is yet to be explained. Thankfully, they can't pass a law as it stands now because HAW HAW HAW the Commiecrats lost control of the House of Representatives last year.

Oh, but before they lost the House, earlier in April 2010, Democratic Lefty Lunatic Henry Waxman did call for a law banning smokeless tobacco from Major League Baseball. It didn't get anywhere probably because, unfortunately, far too many people were obsessed with such mundane matters as, you know, FINDING A FUCKING JOB!

Now of course the Democrats are reduced to using a great sport as a political whipping post, which makes you wonder in just how bad of disarray, just how desperate, the Democrats are. Unemployment is still at over nine percent and we just had a plot to kill diplomats on American soil sponsored by, allegedly, the Iranian regime, the housing market is still in the crapper, the world is still full of people who want to either rip us off or destroy us, or both, the borders are as porous as ever, and we are on track to break twenty trillion dollars in national debt, and can't do anything to reverse course, while lowlife scumbags are piling into the streets making all kinds of unreasonable demands, and the government is doing everything it can to disrupt job creation by the private sector.

But Dick Durbin still marks time on his calendar for this. And people wonder why I will no longer vote for a Democrat under any scenario. But if you are one of the ones who do wonder why people like me make such a big deal about it, it's really pretty simply. If Democrats can find excuses to extend their dictatorial objectives during the absolute shittiest of times like we have now, just imagine what they will try to get away with when times are good, should We The People become more complacent.

One way they accomplish this is by giving you something you want, or need, and think you just can't live without it and must be supplied or subsidized by the government. In the case of Major League Baseball, they have enjoyed close to a century of exemption from the confines of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act, which makes Major League Baseball a legally recognized monopoly.

This could easily be revoked at any time by a significant court challenge, or possibly even by a legislative act which would probably be upheld this go-round, which of course gives Congress a great deal of leverage.

The anti-trust exemption could and should be ended, in all honesty. That would put a stop to at least this avenue of interference.

Because frankly, the likes of Dick Durbin should be allowed no closer to Major League Baseball than the cheap seats. Unless of course its by way of a baseball bat up the side of the head, but that's probably asking for too much, unfortunately.

Donald Douglas-Struck By The Poison Of Progressive Ideology

According to Douglas-

Some time back, one of my colleagues suggested that no matter what the nature of online disagreements, no matter how intense or vile, taking such disagreements to an opponent's employer is outside the bounds of decency: it is simply un-American. And I would add that when those same workplace complaints involve blatant and patently false allegations amounting to libel, those taking such actions are not only un-American, but genuinely satanic. And I have to apologize to longtime readers who might be getting bored with such blogging, but writing about the progressive left's perpetual campaign of personal destruction, against my economic livelihood, is how I'm able to deal with the issues, keep my sanity, and of course clear my good name. As I noted earlier, there is essentially no lie that's beyond the pale for the radicals. They'll do anything to destroy opponents. And they don't stop. And virtually to the one, the complaints leveled against me have been pure lies. I'm not going to recount them. All of this is of a piece. But since many on the left are coordinating these attacks, the frequency seems to be accelerating. I'll soon know more about the latest round of allegations and lies. The problem seems to be three-fold. Professor Douglas is-

*A university professor
*A devout Christian
*A staunch, unabashed conservative who blogs unapologetically for conservative principles and against the politics of the radical left.

As such, he has made many enemies. One of these is E. D. Kain, one of the founders of the blog The League Of Ordinary Gentlemen.

Kain for his part has accused Douglas of defamation and joined the chorus of those who have complained to Douglas's employer. This in particular seems to have something to do with Douglas's criticisms of Kain due to the latter's seeming change of political allegiance over time. I of all people could certainly be sympathetic to Kain, as my views have also evolved, though in the opposite direction. However, when Kain contacted the University, he went way over the line, which he himself admitted in a comment at the post in question.

Only problem is, after posting the apology Kain evidently complained again to Douglas's employer, and demanded that he refrain from any criticism of him on his blog, allegedly going so far as to demand the blog be shut down.

But its not just Kain, there are more engaged in harassment of Douglas, and the charges run the gamut from defamation to accusations of involvement in child pornography.

This is the left, and this is what they do. Freedom of speech, it seems, means freedom to join their cause and act in agreement with their principles, but does not apply to those who hold an opposing viewpoint. But to take it to the extent of harassing employers and fellow employees, or family, unfortunately is not seen as out of bounds to the hard core left.

Full disclaimer. Unlike Douglas, I am not a Neocon, and I would probably find more disagreement with him over pertinent issues than agreements. Truthfully, I don't see Neocons as conservative at all, I see them as pro-national security, anti-communist liberals, which is what they are. As such, they tend to also be Big Government conservatives, and liberal in almost all matters not related to national security, and on many matters that are as far as how they perceive the proper way of going about achieving their policy goals.

But I still respect them and steadfastly defend their right to express their views, on their own blogs and elsewhere. For anyone to attack them to the point of harassment in their personal and professional lives is clearly beyond the pale, and totally unacceptable.

Can there be any question of what life would be like under any kind of leftist regime, especially one with unchecked power.

I have no idea whether or not the following story is true, but if it does turn out to be valid its going to send shock waves through the GOP. Apparently, someone, an unidentified source from inside the camp of GOP Florida Senator Marco Rubio, has informed Robert Stacy McCain of the blog The Other McCain, that someone on Rubio's staff has been trying to influence the GOP Republican presidential primary calendar. The person or people involved, which may or may not include Rubio himself, have been instrumental in moving up the date of the primary, in what would seem to be a transparent attempt to benefit the then current front runner, Mitt Romney. If true, the plan is as clever as it is diabolical, as it presupposed that New Hampshire, which has a state law declaring they must have the first primary in the nation, will be obliged to likewise move up the date of their own primary. New Hampshire also heavily favors Romney at the current time. All of this has caused not just New Hampshire, but other states, specifically Iowa, South Carolina, and Nevada to move their caucus and primaries up as well.

So, whether or not Rubio is involved directly or indirectly, what does he get out of this? Presumably, he would be picked as Mitt Romney's running mate.

As you can imagine, this has, or will cause much anxiety among conservative circles, most of whom see Rubio as a kindred conservative spirit while viewing Mitt Romney as an establishment favorite, and a bit of a squish. While Romney's support has held steadily in the mid-to-upper twenty percent of GOP voters, he never seems to rise above that due to his moderate, RINO reputation based mainly on his identification with big government conservatism at best, and at worst his support for such left-leaning policies as universal health care and a belief in Anthropogenic Global Climate Change, to name just a few things.

If Rubio is perceived as having betrayed the conservative Tea Party movement in order to secure a place on the ticket with the RINO Romney, it could be bad news for the Republican cause.

But should it really be a surprise? Rubio hails from Florida, a battleground state, and though he is seen as a Tea Party conservative, is he really? Conservatives have since his election, and well before, heaped praises on his head, and hailed him as one of the saviors of conservative principles. Yet all the while Rubio seems to have been taken under the wing of the Bush dynasty, particularly ex-Florida governor Jeb Bush, and was invited by Nancy Reagan to speak at the Reagan Library, where at one point he prevented Mrs. Reagan from falling, in an episode that almost seemed staged to me.

At 40, Rubio is a relatively young man, practically a kid in political terms, yet here he is one the one hand the object of near-veneration by the Tea Party, yet feted by and absorbed into the establishment club. Having had a small taste of the potential of the power and influence of Washington politics while rarely questioned or met with a critical eye, should we not have expected this?

This is of course presuming the story is true and that Rubio is himself knowingly involved if it is true. It might well be that the story comes from a plant in the Rubio camp, possibly even a Perry supporter. But the story bears watching, and it will be interesting to see how Rubio responds, if he does.

Whatever the case, conservatives should take from this an object lesson. Being possibly majority Christian, they more than most should be aware of the dangers of the allure of political power and influence. You can dress a man in royal raiment, and tell him in so many words that he's "a god, not a man". Do it long enough and he might even take you seriously on some level. Then by the time that old owl hoots, more often than not the corruption has already done its work, and irreversible damage.

UPDATE-When questioned about McCain's report, Marco Rubio issued a sternly worded denial, ending with "Hahaha". That Marco, such a jovial sort. Even accused McCain-the apparent "they" of the denial-of making the report up "out of thin air". Here's a portion of Rubio's statement, courtesy of The Shark Tank

“Don’t you think if something like that had happened, you would have heard something? 100% fiction, they just made it up out of thin air . . . Ok, BTW, if this were true, it means you got scooped in you own state!!!! Hahaha”

So what exactly is the truth? Who knows? Rubio admits to spearheading the effort to move Florida's primary up in 2007, so I guess that could serve to give him some plausible deniability cover. And then there's this, from The Shark Tank post linked above-

the recent move by the Florida legislature was carried out by a committee spearheaded by House Speaker Dean Cannon and House Majority Leader Carlos Lopez-Cantera- both have endorsed Governor Rick Perry in the Presidential primary.

Convoluting matters further, one of Perry’s top campaign consultants was also Governor Charlie Crist’s consultant during the 2010 Senate race before Crist jumped ship and ran as an Independent, and that Perry’s Florida team was being led by Rich Heffley, Jim Rimes and Randy Enwright. Heffley was responsible for fabricating the infamous “truthaboutRubio” attack website against now Senator Rubio.

So the initial link could be a concerted effort by Perry staffers and former Crist operatives to hurt both Romney and Rubio and in the meantime deflect from the involvement of the Perry campaign apparatus for their role in the primary calendar debacle, something R S McCain has been in the forefront of critical reporting about.

Still all in all, I'm not ready yet to absolve Rubio of complicity. Strange bedfellows and all that.

One thing is for sure. Once the jovial smiles and the joking was over, I bet Rubio started going through his staff with a fine toothed comb. Expect at least one head to roll.

Parents Declare War On Battle Creek Michigan School District

It seems the parents there do have quite a problem with a science book that proclaims Al Gore to be an "eco-hero".

It can't get much worse than that. But there is more-

Thirty-five school districts are using the seventh-grade science kits this year, including Vicksburg, Otsego and Schoolcraft in the Kalamazoo area.

The book holds up Al Gore as an “eco-hero;” promotes organizations such as Greenpeace and Rainforest Alliance; urges children to persuade their parents to “Vote Green” and buy organic; cautions against new-home construction, the plastics industry and conventional agriculture, and notes “many people believe that it is best for the earth for families to have no more than one child.”

I bet most of those kids in that district don't know the first thing about science past the 101 basics, if indeed that much. Granted, this was a seventh grade text, but that's not really the point. In science, and in practically all other courses, everything in the way of practical knowledge must take a backseat to political correctness and indoctrination. This is the primary if not the sole reason why the US is so far behind the developed world, and beyond, in science, math, and practically every other subject.

I bet if you asked these kids why they shouldn't mix sulfuric and hydrochloric acid they'd probably guess "because it's a bad trip?"

Tea Party Versus the Occupy Scumbags

I have been, so far unsuccessfully, trying to find the joyous news of an Occupy Fargo scumbag who lost his worthless life when he fell off a bridge. Until such time that I can regale you with the specifics of this happy report, enjoy the compare and contrast of this video, in which some Tea Party people risked their lives, or at least a case of severe nausea, by walking into the serpents den that is the Occupy DC protest movement.

It's pretty easy to tell the difference between the two groups. One group, the Tea Party, believes in limited government, liberty, free-markets, and bathing. The other group, the Occupy movement, are various degrees of socialists, fascists, and word on the street is there are a fair number of Ron Paul followers as well. Which if true is possibly the one and only thing the two groups have in common.

Well, aside from the fact that, legally, both are predominantly American citizens, and that the Occupy crowd is also made up of, allegedly, human beings.

The Other McCain shares this video that warmed the cockles of my little heart. After all, the unwitting recipient of the crowd's disdain is the same idiot who supported Obamacare on the grounds that the government has the right to force you to pursue your "constitutional right" to the pursuit of happiness. If you don't believe that, I blogged about it here, where you can also see the video where he makes this outrageous claim.

Therefore, when I saw the Occupy Wall Street hipsters put Democratic Congressional thug John Lewis in his place, my initial thoughts were, well they can't be all bad. Watch the fun as Lewis becomes more and more frustrated. You can almost hear him thinking out loud, "don't these people know who the hell I am? I'm Civil Rights "hero" John Lewis. How dare they say I'm no better than they are!"

When I remember how Lewis was one of a group of Black Congressional Caucus members who one time strolled through a Tea Party crowd and later lied, claiming people in the crowd shouted "nigger" and spat on him, I found myself wondering if this crowd would meet the same criticism. But of course that's not going to happen. After all, this protest, and all the other similar ones across the nation, are supported by the powers that be. Not just by the SEIU and other unions, and by activists such as World Can't Wait and Code Pink. They are also supported by Barak Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and other Democrats, who disingenuously compare them to the Tea Party. Yes, the Democratic Party supports this nationwide movement, including the Occupy Philadelphia group that recently marched through the streets of Philadelphia carrying a Soviet flag.

So what do they want, this motley crue of Ron Paul supporters, hipsters, and various stripes of progressives and socialists? Well, besides free stuff, that is. They would seem to want a more fair, equitable distribution of the nation's wealth, jobs, better pay, and of course a higher tax rate on all those that they demand provide them with all of these goodies. And of course they want relief from the burdens of those student loans they've been unfairly saddled with. After all, can they help it that there just isn't that great a demand these days for PoliSci, Sociology, Economics, and Anthropology grads?

But although these things might have provided the original impetus, there is very likely much more to it than that.

Sunday on Face The Nation, Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain declared, to a teary-eyed Bob Schieffer, that the Occupy Wall Street Movement is nothing more than a blatant attempt to distract from the failed policies of the Obama Administration by focusing public outrage at the banks, and Wall Street, who by the way overwhelmingly supported the election of Obama in 2008 against John McCain.

All in all, this movement is one that should be welcome, if anything, as a sign of the on-going implosion and disintegration of the left as they stumble through their on-going divorce from reality.

FilmLadd has a brutal evisceration of Bill O'Reilly, who just cant seem to see the trees for the forest. O'Reilly seems to live in a world where everyone basically has the best of intentions. They're just wrong. Thus, in his world view, George Soros is nothing more than a greedy capitalist, a kind of modern day Robber Baron who manipulates social unrest for his own personal power and enrichment. Barak Obama truly loves America and is a patriot. He just has a skewed ideological vision of what is best for the country and for "the folks".

And the Occupy Wall Street Movement, which has just recently expanded to other areas, including Washington D.C.'s K-Street and even to Lexington Kentucky? They're just a bunch of hippies who want free stuff, or equality, or whatever, but nobody should take them seriously, according to O'Reilly. Soon, these same socialist ideologues will follow in the footsteps of their sixties forebears. They themselves will occupy Wall Street in the form of investment bankers and stock-brokers. They will no longer rail against the system. They will be the system.

It is all too clear however that the repercussions today could be much more serious, with longer lasting implications, and one must wonder to what extent Obama is involved with the movement, albeit in the background, though publicly encouraging such random acts of public protest as resulted in one group taking possession of the Brooklyn Bridge, which in turn necessitated the arrest of more than seventy protestors.

Robert Stacy McCain in the meantime points out another group of allies the sixties hippy crowd never had-the unions, particularly the SEIU, along with myriads of others, including teachers.

It's all a bit murky to me. O'Reilly is correct about one thing. Most of this crowd are gravely disappointed in Obama, whom they feel has let them down, whom they believe has sold out to the Wall Street crowd. In fact, this is true in a sense. He sold out to them during his first campaign. Wall Street by and large donated more money to him than to McCain, more possibly than to any other candidate, Democrat or Republican, in history.

Still, there can be no doubt that Obama wants to shore up his leftist base, and so has no compunction about using weasel words to the effect that the Occupy Wall Street Movement speaks for a large and growing disaffection across the country.

One of the protestors is a man I have had a terse acquaintance with for some time. In fact, Troutsky is on my blogroll. (yes, I have some commies on my blogroll). He certainly has no love lost for Obama or the Democrats. Still, note how the old trout guide waxes poetic in this post about how he is working on the sidelines, or as he puts it, on the periphery, and adds this bit of warning to those unions who don't toe the line.

It's great to see SEIU down at Zucotti Square but I hope someone asks them about California health care workers. Because their union is actively scabbing and trying to break a courageous strike. It is time for honest critique of EVERYTHING, just get it out in the open and talk.

It would seem as though healing the sick and saving lives must, alas, take a back seat to the glorious cause of civil unrest and property theft. So what to make of all of this? If you're out and about on your daily routine to and from work, the store, seeing to business matters, etc., what should you do if you run into a horde of these devoted progressives trying to stick it to the man? What can you do? You certainly have to keep a watchful eye and if possible, take judicious notes. Capture the mayhem on video if at all possible.

And by all means, go armed if you can. Just in case the unthinkable happens.

Grover Norquist Exposed On The House Floor

At this point she may be, in her own smaller way, an even more effective voice of opposition than Pamela Gellar, who a good many people tend to shut out without a fair hearing. Is Grover Norquist's Americans For Tax Reform being used by Norquist as a money laundering operation? It seems that there is more than ample reason to believe that to be the case, but if so, the veil seems to be finally lifting. Or possibly unraveling. The question remains, who of all of Norquist's unsavory acquaintances, not the least of whom is convicted felon Jack Abramof, has utilized Norquist's organization for illicit means. The answers might surprise you if you are unfamiliar with the man's history, but the answer would seem to be such groups as CAIR, Hamas, Hebbollah, and the Islamic Brotherhood. It would seem that Grover is a major champion and advocate of the religion of peace.

It has gotten to the point where one Congressman, Republican Frank R. Wolf, just today denounced Norquist on the floor of the House. I won't go into detail, as you can read it all here, but the problems with Norquist seem multifaceted.

For one, he has been a strong supporter of any and all Islamic causes here in the US. That in and of itself need not necessarily be cause for alarm, so long as it is transparent, but if he is using the ATR as a means of funneling money back and forth, and to and from Islamic radical organizations, then it becomes grave cause for concern. But more to the point, he has been a strong influence on GOP lawmakers through the aegis of the ATR's "No New Tax Pledge" which he has hitherto run almost like a protection racket.

First, GOP lawmakers and candidates are pressured to take the pledge, and then bludgeoned without mercy if they show signs of wavering from that pledge in the slightest ways. Unfortunately, this goes way beyond raising taxes. Also forbidden is any serious effort at entitlement reform. Perhaps even more disturbing is Norquist's insistence that any attempt to repeal subsidies or even the more odious forms of tax exemptions currently enjoyed by wealthy individuals and large corporations is also tantamount to breaking the pledge.

The end result would seem to be the wielding of a type of influence that might make George Soros green with ency. Yet, according to the Congressman, this kind of influence is stopping any budgetary reform progress dead in its tracks.

The question remains, who benefits the most from Norquist's influence? Have tax loopholes and exemptions made it possible for some corporations to funnel money to Norquist's organization in large sums? And how is this money being used, and for whose benefit? Are some of our major corporations unknowingly funding organizations whose overall objective and purpose is to supplant Western Civilization and to install shariah law?

And of course, although it wouldn't seem to fall under his purview, Norquist has probably twisted arms insofar as legal efforts on behalf of the Islamic groups he supports. For example, he was a vocal proponent of the Ground Zero Mosques, and has been a staunch opponent of the Patriot Act. He has also been at the forefront of demands for the closure of Guantanamo Bay, in demanding civil rights for even the most heinous of foreign-born jihadists, and has even been an advocate of terrorist fundraisers such as Sami Al-Aryan.

It is a disturbing list of allegations, but if true, Republicans need to cut this millstone from around their neck. Prosecution as well should be forthcoming, but there's the rub. How many people in Congress are just in too deep with Norquist to feel comfortable with any further revelations?

Was Rick Perry Wrong And If So, How Exactly?

Rick Perry looks to me like he's on the way out as a presidential contender, and that's probably just as well. The man is a horrid debater. Even in a debate with the Teleprompter Messiah, you need to not come across as tongue-tied for the simple fact it makes you look unsure of your facts, your position, and yourself.

With that out of the way, its really too bad, because I think Perry is getting a bad rap. But its a rap that is resonating in GOP circles nationwide. Here's just one example recently posted in American Spectator from a Republican congressional candidate from North Carolina by the name of Vernon Robinson, remarking at a rally (in front of a Mexican restaurant that is alleged to hire illegal immigrants) regarding Rick Perry's supposed "Amnesty" ideals.

"If Governor Perry's amnesty policy is adopted, it will mark the first time a Texan has surrendered to Mexico in 175 years," continued Robinson. Robinson called for using troops to secure the border, implementing e-Verify, cutting off welfare to illegal immigrants, an end to ballot printed in Spanish and other foreign languages, rescinding birthright citizenship, and restricting the jurisdiction of federal judges who stand in the way.

I'm not sure how much of that Perry would agree or disagree with, but I'll take the governor at his word and assume he sincerely wants to control illegal immigration, meaning like most conservatives he wants to at least slow it to a crawl if not eliminate it all together.

As for me, I find myself agreeing with every single item stated by Robinson. I might be even more hard core than he is. For example, until such time that we can repeal Posse Comitatus and thus put troops on the border (which frankly we should be able to do anyway) we should mandate that our border control agents not only have the right to shoot to kill in self-defense when they are attacked by illegal immigrants at or near the border, but they should be able to shoot them when they are trying to elude capture. If that sounds harsh, bear in mind many of these people are drug smugglers, gang members, and that some even engage in human trafficking. A good rule of thumb is, if you don't want to get shot, don't resist or evade law-enforcement, even if you think you're in the right. Let your attorney sort that out. The Mexican Embassy will appoint you one free of charge and will scream to high heaven in your defense, even if you're a convicted child rapist.

I hope I've made my point. I've been accused of a lot, but being weak on immigration and border security, well that's not one of them. Of course things can change and that might be starting with this post.

My question is, what exactly did Perry say that was so horrible, other than the mangled, garbled, amateurish way he said it?

Let's take it one step at a time. Only instead of looking what he actually said, let's pretend we're Democrats and twist his words around to mean something different than what actually came out of his mouth.

"You Republicans who don't believe in the Texas Dream Act are a bunch of heartless sons-of-bitches"

And of course, as I hope everyone knows, this is not what he said at all. In fact, he wasn't even referring to American citizens, nor specifically Republican voters, in my opinion. What he actually said, to paraphrase him, was "if you don't support giving an education to children who are brought here through no fault of their own, frankly I don't think you have a heart."

This was actually an amateurish and really pretty lame attempt to attack not GOP voters, but GOP politicians and policy-makers who dissent from his views. Where Perry messed up profoundly was in making the mistake of assuming that most Republican voters would agree with him. But he wasn't intentionally attacking them. Perry is not that big a fool. He just hasn't caught on yet that the United States as a country is bigger and more complicated than most things. Including, yes, even Texas.

But conversely, we all screw up when we fail to recognize the unique texture of the Texas landscape. To most of us, illegal immigration is frightening. How many are here, what will be the long-term effects on our culture and society? Will they add an unstoppable horde of supporters to the leftist agenda? It's uncharted territory, to be sure. But Texas to an extent is that territory, and Texans have lived it daily. They have had to deal with the unique problems it poses directly, not as a mere abstract concept.

Seen in this light, I can see Perry's point. Say you have a bunch of kids who have been here since a very young age. Their parents work hard, hidden in the shadows, but in the meantime these kids attend school. Some of them work hard and learn, and make good grades. Some even graduate with honors, as they and for the most part their parents contribute to the culture and society, and don't break the law, other than through the fact that they are here illegally.

Some of these kids have gone on to enter the US military and have fought for their adopted country. Why then should they not be granted a scholarship to attend a Texas University, or allowed to pay in-state tuition, seeing as how Texas is the state in which they have resided, went to school, and worked? Provided they meet the qualifications for attendance, and scholarship, and are willing to work hard, who are we to say them nay? We are always hearing about how we need more doctors, scientists, engineers, mathematicians. Well?

And about this border fence business. Perry is right on that as well. The idea of constructing a fence along the entirety of the Mexican-American border is a non-starter to me. It's grandstanding and demagoguery at best, and anytime I hear someone talk that crap I tend to tune them out. For one thing, are you going to construct a damn fence in the middle of the Rio Grande? Because if you can't solve that challenge then you are faced with the prospect of separating Texas landowners from large portions of their own acreage.

And then, as surely as night follows day, as soon as the fence is built, they will reduce the numbers of border agents, probably by significant amounts. The problem is, you will still need x number of agents or the fence becomes nothing more than a temporary inconvenience. And if you have the number of agents, or national guard troops that you need to make the fence an efficient deterrent, then voila, guess what? Turns out you don't need the damn fence after all, because the same amount of border agents can do the job as good without the fence as with it. Strike that, they can probably do the job even better.

It's like the guy that puts up a high fence around his property. Sure it will keep some people out, all but those that are really determined, and once those determined ones get over, the fence no longer protects you, it protects them. Border agents by and large aren't gifted with x-ray vision. They can't see through the wall any better than the illegals, and if you don't have a hell of a lot of agents, then the illegals will get over. And those that do make it through will be the last ones you would want. And make it through they will, one way or another.

As for the lettuce pickers and the bed-changers, I don't care about them. I want limitations on how many come here, to be sure, and I want those to come here legally, but in the meantime I want to focus our energy and attention on the truly criminal element. If we really, really want to we can get rid of them by shooting them down like the invading army of insurgents that they are in a very real way, if necessary. And make no mistake, that's what they are.

The others we can deal with over time, by initiating a pathway to citizenship for those who have otherwise obeyed the rules and worked whenever possible.

But first we have to secure the borders, in a sensible, realistic way. And a border fence is not going to cut it for the reasons I mentioned. Plus, frankly, I think its intended more as a boondoggle than anything. Just who will build the thing, and how much will it cost. This thing could end up making the Big Dig look like a skateboard park.

So let's all take a deep breath. We have too many important things to worry about. And in fact, this nonsense about a border fence is one of the main things that is holding up progress on actually securing the border. Put the boots on the ground and do everything else sensible that is required to at least slow this problem down to a trickle, and then let's move on from there.

Warren Buffett-Snake Oil Salesman And All-Around Fraud

I want to preface this post by stating, I am sick and tired of hearing about how Warren Buffett pays a lesser percentage of tax on dividends than his secretary pays in income tax. That's only to be expected, as capital gains are taxed at fifteen percent. But what is really irritating as how he portrays this as being so unfair to his poor hapless secretary.

This is not a woman who works in some obscure small town doctor or lawyer's office, or some struggling regional business.

This is the secretary of WARREN FUCKING BUFFETT!!! I have no doubt whatsoever that she makes well up into six figures in salary, probably enough to put her well into the upper income bracket. And that's before you start factoring in other compensation, probably a generous end of the year bonus, birthday bonus, shares of stock, etc. This is not a woman who is just making it.

In the meantime Buffett's company, Berkshire Hathaway, has been in negotiations with the feds as to how much back taxes they owe. The hypocrisy knows no bounds, but don't tell MSNBC that. If you tell them Buffett should release his tax returns, they will call you a Buffett Birther.

Now, Buffett is conducting a scam to inflate the price of Hathaway stock, by announcing a buy-out for up to ten percent above the current price, on the grounds the current stock doesn't reflect what he insists is the company's real value. Alice Schroeder, who has had dealings with the so-called Oracle From Omaho, also hints that this might be a ploy to simply drive up the stock, after which Buffett might decide not to re-purchase after all.

Incidentally, Schoeder once wrote a book about Buffett, who told her when there were two conflicting accounts as pertains to any subject, to always use the version least favorable to him. Then he cut off all contact with her for painting him in an unfavorable light.

This is the kind of man we are suppose to listen to when he advises us to raise taxes on the rich, ie anyone, person or business, who makes more than 250,000 dollars a year.

Two possibilities, either one or both of which might explain this phenomenon.

1. The government has something on Buffett

2. Buffett wants certain businesses to lose their stock value so he can snatch them up.

It's one of the two, and probably both. I would almost be willing to bet my life on number two.

In the meantime, if Warren is really that upset that he isn't paying his fair share, here's a couple of things he can do.

1. If you're really in charge of Berkshire Hathaway, stop haggling with the feds. Pay them what they say you owe. Would they lie to you?

2. Here's an even better idea. There are a plethora of charities, some of which do good work, and some of which are struggling, that could always use a shot in the arm, an infusion of quick, ready cash, hell, a respected spokesman (note, better move fast on that one).

Just a few I can think of off the top of my head. Salvation Army, ASPCA, Boys And Girls Club, Make A Wish, Children's Hospital, The Red Cross, The Boy Scouts.

Granted, not all charities are good, some have a mixed record, some are wasteful of their donations. You can ferret those out, I'm sure. Even the worst of them couldn't be any more wasteful than the federal government.

But of course, Warren Buffett couldn't care less about fairness and government efficiency. There's something else up, and you can bet the main beneficiary, in the long run, will always be Warren Buffett.

The Christie Curse

There are at least five good reasons to dislike Chris Christie but he added icing to the cake last night in his address from the Reagan Library when he spoke the ineffable words "compromise". Those words which should never be spoken by any Republican who wishes to be taken seriously by the base, especially when spoken in connection with the terms "Democrats" and "Congress".

It bodes ill for the future of the nation when its leaders can't learn from the mistakes of the past. If you loved John McCain, you should love Chris Christie. On the other hand, maybe not. McCain was probably on balance more conservative. Of all the current aspirants for the Republican nomination, none are as liberal as Chris Christie. That includes Jon Huntsman, who at least opposes gun control.

Yet, the GOP establishment loves this guy. They won't leave him alone. I wouldn't swear to this, but I think they've even threatened him. They are that convinced that he is some sort of savior. But he's their savior, not the savior of the country, or the constitution. They want somebody to watch their own backs and guard their own asses. They want one of their own.

I want to make it clear, I admire Chris Christie, to a point, as governor of New Jersey. But that's where he should stay, where he can do the most good. Continue to put New Jersey on a sane fiscal setting, in a way that will last way past his tenure. Continue to take on the unions, fight for sane fiscal policies. Reform the state pension system and the schools. Do all those things that have made him a household word.

And then he should retire. He should avoid national office at any level. The last thing the nation needs is another national republican who supports gun control, is a believer in anthropogenic climate change, a support in comprehensive immigration reform, and is politically correct when dealing with matters pertaining to the encroaches of Islam in our society.

Whoever wins the nomination will automatically be beset with pleas-make that demands-to put Christie on the ticket. He or she should avoid doing so. Not just avoid, they should flat out refuse.

Its time for the Republican voters to take control of the Republican Party. If we can't do that, or won't do that, then nothing is ever going to change. It will just be one moderate squish after another, and year after year of Democrats demanding twice what they really want and then "compromising" to get everything they really do want. Before long, there won't be anything left worth compromising over.

Questions From A Concern Troll

I recently deleted a comment from a probably by now former reader, who then sent me a bunch of follow-up posts which Intense Debate didn't post to my blog, although I got the e-mail notifications for them. I decided I'd take the time to answer them, in the order in which I got them. The first comment, incidentally, the one that I deleted, was something about why did I never post about paganism, instead of my "stupid political beliefs", so I'll answer that one first.

Answer-I just post about whatever is on my mind at any given time. And frankly, you should bear in mind that pagans do have lives beyond rituals and spells. Many of us are politically active. Some of us are even socially active, believe it or not. We have girlfriends/boyfriends, children and other family members, friends from all walks of life and belief systems, jobs and careers, school, etc. We like to read, listen to music, watch television and movies. In short, there's really no reason for us to stand out in a crowd.

However, there's a grave misconception that pagans are all liberals and progressives, some maybe even socialists. While that is true of the majority, probably even the vast majority, there are more than you might think that are conservative, and there are quite a few who are libertarian.

I don't actually consider myself a straight down the line conservative, but I am a staunch Federalist, a believer in limitations on the power of the federal government to those powers enumerated by the constitution, and everything else should be the purview of the individual states. That's the way the founders intended it to be, and nothing has happened in all this time to warrant any kind of change in that regard, certainly without going through at least the Amendment process, or without holding a new constitutional convention.

As such, I consider myself a strict constructionist. You don't need a university educated professor or attorney to explain to you or to "interpret" what the constitution means. It means exactly what it says, with some allowances for changes in the definitions of certain words over the years, such as, uh, "regulated" as pertains to the Second Amendment. (A hint, it doesn't mean government control.)

Anyway, I feel I owe it to conservative and to an extent libertarian pagans to make sure I get the word out there, that we are not all America-hating, leftist, Christian bashing, big government control advocates or tree-hugging environmental freaks who want to fundamentally transform America into a European style quasi-socialist nanny state powered completely by wind turbines and solar panels.

Perhaps I should have explained this at the time instead of deleting his post with the cursory explanation that "there's no freedom of speech on my blog".

But really though, do you ever write about Paganism?

Very rarely. What's to write about? There's only so much you can write before you become repetitive. If you don't believe me, check out the myriad of books on the subject of Wicca, or this and that brand of paganism. Once you've read one book by Silver Ravenwolf or Scott Cunningham, you've pretty much covered the gamut of everything anybody else has or will write. There's only so many ways you can describe casting a circle that's going to be unique. I'd rather concentrate on doing something good as opposed to adding to the volume of pablum. On my sidebar, I have a two part series on the god Pan called "Pan-A God For All Nature's Children, Parts One and Two". It's listed, with some other posts, under the heading of "Ancient Rites And Rants (And Immortal Bullshit)". It's probably my most read post, so maybe I should do more of them. But really, if you're not feeling it, what's the point? I've also done some archaeological posts, for example another two-part series, Sodom and Gomorrah, and Revisited.

And there have been others, but really, here's another point. If I did post more about paganism, pagans would be the last ones who would like it, because well, let's say it definitely wouldn't be politically correct if I gave a true pagan perspective, that is to say as I see it, on some of let us say certain issues of the day. Note, I said MY true pagan perspective. To put it a tad bit more concisely, its one thing to exercise tolerance and acceptance of certain things, its another thing all together to act like its positive behavior or healthy and should be applauded, encouraged, or taught in public schools to innocent children. Do I really need to go further? And believe me, that's just one example. There could be many, many more.

And do you realize these Christian batshit insane candidates hate your religion?

So what? A lot of people hate things they don't understand. More than likely though, assuming they have an opinion about it at all, it amounts to pandering to one segment of their base, based on the assumption that they hate it.

In the meantime, a good many independents, and conservative Democrats especially, hate it as well, or at least are highly suspicious of it, which means if I were you, I wouldn't count on Democrat candidates doing a whole hell of a lot to make things any better for you. Oh, and by the way, the liberal Democrats? Well, most of them think you're full of shit. You don't really think they see you in a much better light than they do those knuckle-dragging superstitious Bible thumpers, do you? They might treat you a little better to your face, but they're still condescending. Just don't forget to go to the polls.

Doesn't matter what Republicanism stands for. These people, these individuals, hate Paganism.

This is a good one. All that matter, to this person, is paganism. Nothing else matters, and nothing any party or ideology might stand for matters. I think that's a pretty sad statement. A pagan shouldn't concern himself or herself with what policies a candidate or party fights for or promotes, we should base our votes solely on how they feel, allegedly, about pagans and paganism.

So Republicans allegedly hate, hate, hate, HATE Pagans and Paganism, so it shouldn't matter to me that Democrats want to tax and regulate me to death, and appoint judges that are going to whittle away every constitutional right I have, including the right to bear arms.

Got'cha.

Isn't it so great that liberals and progressives never paint their ideological opponents with a broad brush? They just don't believe in that, you see.

Oh, so I see there are varying degrees of anti-pagan bigotry, and Perry is allegedly at the forefront. So is it possible some of them don't actually hate pagans at all? No, silly me, of course not.

I do have to cut guys like this some slack, because they actually believe, literally, that Republicans are out on a mission to destroy Paganism, or deny them their first amendment rights in some obscene, untoward, and even unconstitutional way. They are not, but you can't convince them otherwise.

So what are you going to do? Me, I think I'll light a candle and some incense and call out to Athene for more wisdom, because I do need more of it. Of course, it helps if you're open to it.

Bristol Palin Versus The Queen Of The Rodeo

This altercation between Bristol Palin and some homosexual at a bar would probably be blamed on Bristol, for approaching the guy to begin with, if the entire video hadn't captured the entire incident in context. Bristol was out with the film crew and staff of her new reality series. She took a turn on the mechanical bull, when the homo shouted "your mother's a whore" and "did you ride Levi like that" and something else equally stupid and banal. Bristol confronted the guy afterward and made him look like the stammering, spitting, bigoted fool most progressives really are deep down, and not so deep down.

My advice to the Queen of the Rodeo-It gets better. Who knows, maybe soon they'll invent a mechanical bull with a dick it can cram up your ass. Until such time, stay in the closet, fag. You're an embarrassment to the human species.

Herman Cain's Breakout Night

Without going into a lot of detail, I name Herman Cain the winner of tonight's Fox-Google debate in Orlando, Florida, with Rick Santorum coming in a close second.

But in all honesty, the person who will probably come out best in this debate is the man I put in the number three position, Mitt Romney.

I'd have to put Gingrich at fourth, Bachmann at fifth, and Perry at sixth. Rounding out the rest of the field, I put Paul at seventh, Huntsman eighth, and Gary Johnson at ninth for his debut debate performance.

The person who might have knocked the wind out of Perry's sails, maybe permanently, wasn't Bachmann or Mitt, but Santorum, who made it plain he wasn't letting Perry skate on his policy of subsidizing university educations for children of illegal immigrants when American citizens are obliged to pay the full amount. He was also as tough as you'd expect on foreign policy and social issues, not backing down from any challenges.

Still, I have to give the overall victory to Cain, who offered a compelling story of a stage four cancer survivor, who succinctly made the case that, had he been obliged to seek treatment under Obamacare, he would not be alive today. He also made a better case for his 9-9-9 Plan, and his advocacy for the "Chilean Model" retirement system.

Unfortunately, this is probably the last stand for Michelle Bachmann. She made a big mistake focusing on Perry, which she did to great effect during the last debate. Tonight it was expected. She would have been better advised to concentrate on Romney who, though he is in second place behind Perry in most recent polls, is still trending upward, gaining on Perry to within the margin of error in most of these polls.

But she did not focus on Romney, nor did anyone else, except Perry of course, and that is a big mistake. Mitt is sailing through while also leading the others in the charge on Perry. In doing so, Mitt is looking every inch like the leader he's trying to portray himself as. It's a smart strategy, because the way things stand, Mitt will regain front-runner status within the coming weeks.

Paul did an admirable job of explaining his position regarding the border fence "locking us in". Unfortunately, his explanation is inapplicable to the modern age of electronic wire transfers, a world where not even organized crime syndicates carry their cash in trunks across the borders. But at least his stand didn't sound quite as nutty.

Gary Johnson got probably the biggest laugh of the night when he said his neighbors two dogs had created more shovel ready jobs than had Obama. But let's face it, Johnson, Paul, and more than likely Huntsman are basically distractions, and I commend the good sense of Thad McCotter for recognizing the reality and ending his ill-advised bid.

I still hold out hope Palin will enter the fray. If she does, it will quickly evolve into a two person race between her and Mitt Romney. And the sooner all the others drop out, the sooner Sara turns Mitt into a two-time loser.

But for the time being, if just for this night, Herman Cain, and to a lesser extent Santorum, proved their mettle tonight.

Joe McGinness, Democrats, And Other Passive Aggressive Racists

Joe McGinness has written an allegedly tell-all book about the life and times of Sara Palin that is hard to take seriously as anything but a slander tome, but on the other hand, what if it is true? What if Sara Palin did have some kind of brief fling with a black college basketball star between twenty and thirty years ago? What if she, Todd and some friends really did snort coke in the woods from the bottom of an oil drum? What if she wasn't the best of mothers in the early days of her marriage, and was in fact such a lousy cook she could "burn water"?

The point seems to be, in part, that Sara Palin is a hypocrite, and we can't overlook the obvious inference that Republican conservatives, especially Christians and members of the Tea Party, should be especially aghast at such sordid tales of her past. Naturally, we might all want to rethink her standing in the movement, and by no means should we want her to be the standard bearer for the Republican Party in 2012. That much is pretty obvious.

Conservatives are of course up in arms over what they consider slander, and Robert Stacy McCain has gone to the point of posting a tongue-in-cheek drive for his readers to contribute to what he calls the Todd Palin Defense Fund, in the event Todd gives McGinness one, or more, maybe several well-deserved ass-whuppins.

It was a joke, of course, but that didn't prevent humorless liberals from disingenuously deeming it a serious threat. This was the reaction from such stalwart liberal sites as Slate, as well as penultimate Palin basher and Trig Truther Andrew Sullivan.

In reality, the Todd Palin Defense Fund was a cleverly and satirically disguised yet open call to contribute to SaraPac, which as the name implies is a PAC set up by Sara Palin to promote conservative causes, issues, and candidates.

Lost in all the hullabaloo is the question, who cares if all this is true? I for one could care less if Palin had an affair with Rice, the black college basketball player in question, or a one night stand, or for that matter ten minutes in a locked stall in a public bathroom. As for the cocaine use, how is that different from Obama's own admitted use of cocaine and marijuana?

Liberals would answer that it demonstrates that Palin is a hypocrite, but that is true only if these things are on-going. Anybody can change their lifestyle, and adopt a set of values that are a complete turnaround from their old life. All that proves is that they have grown up and matured, and want to live a more positive life. Being married and having children tend to do that to people, at least in some cases, especially if you come to realize your old lifestyle amounted to a road to nowhere.

McGinness and his defenders say more about themselves than they do the Tea Party or for that matter about Palin. Why should they assume conservatives should be so up in arms at the idea Palin might have had a brief fling with a black man? This is the most obvious sign of racist projection I have ever seen, and for Democrats that's saying something.

This is a party that promoted and defended slavery, and then Jim Crow, and who to this day think of the black race as a group of people who are so inferior they require the beneficence of the federal government to protect them and even to support them. Taken to its natural extreme, it won't be long before the feds start sending government employees out to all the government housing projects to cook their meals, clean their houses, and wash their clothes, with the taxpayer picking up the tab.

On the other hand, suppose some conservatives are offended at the alleged relationship between Palin and Rice. How does it follow they would vote for a man who is the product of a mixed race relationship? A man whose mother was a noted white commie bitch, and whose father was a black commie Muslim. A man who has been mentored by commies and anarchists all his life and who has the audacity to hope that he can fundamentally transform America into what would possibly amount to a third world commie hell hole if he could have his way, or at the very best, a second rate quasi-socialist European style nanny-state.

I don't know about anybody else, but methinks I'll stick with the white chick in this case. Ironically, if Palin does decide to run, and wins the Republican nomination, she might have Joe McGinness to thank for netting her an extra three or four percent of the black vote over and above the roughly ten percent that typically vote Republican.

You know. The ones Democrats insist are "Uncle Toms". You see, back in the old days, Democrats used to force black folks in the South to vote Democrat. Then, they threatened them with the rope and the whip.

Now they merely bribe them with welfare, food stamps, drugs, and rat infested tenements while making sure the general black population is disarmed and at the relative mercy of black thug gangs, and by ratcheting up the rhetoric to make it impossible for big city police departments to do their jobs in such a way as might interfere with this national protection racket. All the while of course making sure black folks understand they just can't make it in life without the "help" of Democrats and their appointed straw bosses and house Negroes. You know, like Obama.

No, Democrats sure don't mind fucking black people. They've been doing that for going on two hundred years. Here for the last forty years or so, they've just been kissing them first.

Promised Land

It finally occurred to me there may have been a rhyme and a reason for Obama's Israeli policy all this time. It goes something like this-Let's help the Palestinians, Iran, and radical Islamic groups wipe Israel off the map. If we move slowly but steadily, not only can we curry favor with the Arab street, we can blame it on Bush, Republicans, and Christian conservatives as we can bring all the Israeli survivors to America where they really belong, to join in with all the other Jews who typically vote Democratic by a margin of almost three to one.

Ah, but last night, with the election of Bob Turner to the Congressional seat formerly held by Geraldine Ferraro, Chuckie Schumer, and Anthony Weiner, a seat which has been solidly Democratic since 1923, it might be a sign of a kind of change the Obama Administration had never foreseen. Especially since it wasn't even close. Republican Turner beat Democrat David Weprin by something like 54 to 46 percent.

A clear message not only to Obama, but to the Democratic Party in general which has taken the Jewish vote for granted for far too long. What could this mean?

It was more than just a Jewish backlash, of course, there was also outright dissatisfaction with Obama's handling of the economy. Turner in fact made the election more about Obama than he made it about Weprin, whom at last accounting had not only not conceded the race, but was seemingly in hiding.

But that hasn't prevented other Democrats, such as Rep. Lynn Wolsey of California, from doubling down on the stupid.

Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-Calif.) stressed that it was important for Democrats to not cave in on pieces of either Obama’s jobs plan or the [Congressional Progressive Caucus's] job-creation agenda.
“Half a loaf is not enough in the United States of America,” Woolsey said. “The whole proposal is what we must have now.”

Not only are independents and conservative Democrats becoming wide awake to the dangers posed by this renegade regime and its communist infiltrated political party, but so are interest groups that were formerly reliable Democrat votes. The following video by Ladd Ellinger is an example of the anger of a growing number of Jewish voters towards the Democrat regime.

Another special election for a seat in the House of Representatives election was won by the Republicans last night as well, this one in Nevada.

The Aftermath Of 9/11-How Did It Change Us?

The attacks of September 11, 2001, changed us in ways we never could have ever foreseen. But did it really change us that much? Yes and no.

In the immediate aftermath, we all joined hands as a nation. We were solidly united, for an all too brief period. Democrat and Republican leaders joined hands on the steps of the Capitol in a show of unity and solidarity, in an attempt to instill hope and to encourage us as a nation to pull together, to overcome the tragedy, and to move towards justice, yes, but also healing. The eyes of the world were on us, and it seemed like almost everyone was in our corner.

It didn't last.

Some people say we lost our innocence as a nation that day. That was a lie. We as a nation lost our innocence on the day we signed the Constitution. Within that document was embedded the compromise that allowed slavery. It was a necessary compromise at the time, one that could not be avoided. We eventually abolished slavery by means of the amendment process embedded in the same constitution that allowed the institution of slavery. It took two thirds of a century and a bloody, divisive war, but we ended it. We made things right. But we were not innocent.

And then we lived for another century with the shame of Jim Crow. We ended that as well, finally. We made that right, and are still making it right. But we are not innocent.

We sat silently as Andrew Jackson, the President we now honor on the twenty dollar bill, conducted the brutal savagery against the Cherokee Indians known as the Trail of Tears. We have yet to make that right, though we have tried. We have not yet come close to healing that wound. We are not innocent.

And even today, there is the on-going brutal holocaust of abortion, with untold millions of innocent babies snuffed out in the wombs of the mothers that should nurture and protect them, a happenstance that we have allowed through some misguided notion of privacy rights and individual liberty. There are those who fight valiantly to make the wrong right.

Throughout all of these, and other wrongs, we debated and fought, and tried to make things right. And we did make things right when we could. We will always strive to make things right. That is our nature as a people, as a country. But sometimes, in trying to help, in trying to do the right thing, we still sometimes make mistakes and do the wrong thing. We are not a bad people, or an evil nation, quite the contrary. We are the greatest people, and nation, on the face of the earth, in all of history. But we are not perfect. We are not innocent.

We have tried to right all of our wrongs, to the best of our abilities, though seldom united even during those times when we agreed there must be change, we would still debate over the best way to bring about that change.

But when all is said and done, the Constitution, with its Bill of Rights, despite its original inherent flaws, is the greatest document of liberty the world has ever produced, or is likely to ever produce.

We have saved the world, at least three times over. We have a spirit that we have, instilled from our beginnings, an inherited culture that speaks to a deep rooted desire to make the world a better place, a free place, where all people can be free from tyranny, can be free to pursue their dreams, where people live and raise their families and instill in them those same values-the desire to make the world a little bit better for the next generation than it was for ourselves.

That may have all changed. A lot may have changed. But let's not delude ourselves into thinking we were ever innocent.

What we are is a hopeful people, a good people, with values and morals, and a love for liberty. At least, that's what we have been.

But we have also been a divided nation. That is the inherent nature of a constitutional republic such as ours. All too often, we have glossed over our differences. We felt we could always come to an agreement eventually. A compromise. We could always work things out, some way or another.

That's what 9/11 changed. We no longer have the capacity for working things out, for compromise. 9/11 was a wound to the heart, mind, and spirit, and the wound is still raw and sore.

Instead of uniting us, 9/11 has if anything heightened our divisions. Now we notice them more and more, on matters that at one time we would have deemed unimportant, inconsequential. Now we see, maybe they weren't so simple, or minor, after all.

More and more now, Americans have started to solidify their differences.

The left now sees they aren't going to be able to gradually phase in their socialistic visions for the future of America. Where once the resistance was small though sturdy, that resistance has over the course of the last decade grown larger, stronger, and much more intense. The left has responded by becoming ever more agitated, ever more determined, ever more abusive in its hateful rhetoric.

The right now sees they can not compromise with those who want to change the nature of their country. And so they too have become ever more determined, ever more strident in their opposition to the left's manipulations and provocations.

The ruling elites, for their part, have gradually started to realize they can not take the gullibility of the American people for granted. It's no longer good enough to talk the talk. The minute they are honored with an elective office, they are expected to walk the walk. Some have adapted with more or less varying degrees of grace and sincerity, in the face of constant derision and berating, sometimes downright hostility, not from followers of the opposition party so much as from their own constituencies. They know the people are sick of the status quo, and when they see fresh faces from main street mingling with the good old boys (and girls) from the Ivy League and legal profession, they know they are in the midst of a sea change that could easily wash them away like yesterday's tide.

And the media, which once leisurely supported the ruling class by fiat, all the while pretending to be objective and non-partisan, while in reality being anything but that, is now faced with the dilemma of their own growing irrelevancy.

Even our gods and goddesses of the entertainment world are feeling the pressure, the glaring light and withering heat of derision, as more and more of them start to wonder why films that once would have been box office hits are avoided in droves.

It is a brave now world of anger, outrage, and despair. Yet, it is also a world of hope for the future. And it is up to all of us as to which one will eventually prevail. Do we have the patience, the intestinal fortitude, to see it through to the end? Or will we eventually give up hope, return to the status quo? The elites hope we eventually do just that. I hope we do not.

That, my friends, is the true legacy of 9/11.

Ironically, it might well prove to be the best damn thing that ever happened to us.

But one thing we can never do is sit on the sidelines and hope for the best.

Those days are gone forever.

He actually made this speech yesterday at the Shanksville Pennsylvania Memorial, in honor of those brave airline passengers who overpowered the Muslim hijackers and in doing so probably saved the Capitol on 9/11. They lost their lives in the attempt when the plane crashed into a field in Cranksville. President Bush spoke first, and it is said to be a very moving speech as well (I haven't heard it yet).

But I wanted to bring your attention to Clinton's speech, very likely the best one of his life, as he compares the heroic passengers, all private citizens, to the Spartan Army of Thermopylae, and to the heroes of The Alamo. Men who knew they were going to die, but who willingly sacrificed themselves for the sake of their loved ones, and their country.

The heroes here did the same thing with very little time to prepare, and Clinton expresses his hopes that 2500 years from now, people will remember them as well. Very moving.

Paul Krugman is not the only asshole leftist who disrespects the memory of 9/11, though he might be the most renowned of this group of jackals. I didn't want to post anything about these kinds of people today, because I didn't want to give them a forum. All of them including Krugman are deserving of obscurity. But then I realized what I've always known. These people are a part of our society, and unfortunately they aren't going to go away whether we ignore them or not. They deserve our derision.
